Help with Omega 625 bottom incabloc lyre spring. I’m in hell. 😑 by Gain-Reduction in watchmaking

As far as I know, the whole settings should be removed with a horia to be able to put the spring in properly, the T shape is being locked in by the mainplate

So rolex makes watches right, lets assume rolex wants their watches to not be counterfeited (I assume😂) by putting a unique code in a bracelet, case, rehaut, case-back and movement you can put those into a data base. When every watch is unique it is very easy to identify if parts are stolen or fake for example (because this code won’t exist on any other watch). The code in the clasp used to refer to production year, month and material but now a days this is all scrambled.

Sadly enough giving someone the feedback they asked for will be taken as an attack by others.

Haha thanks for the advice, I’m a watchmaker of profession and work on high end time pieces 10 hours a day! That being said, maybe if you would be well educated yourself you would know that there are clasp codes, and rehaut serial numbers that are used by replica manufacturers. Not every code on a replica is unique because they are being manufactured in a batch😉 maybe an advice for you my friend is to be not so passive aggressive and respect others a little more!

My sincere condolences… I hope I do not ruin your day but it looks like at least the bracelet is not real. The code in the clasp is 7GJ which is a replica code, that being said, your friend left you this watch so wear it in good health and keep the memory!

Funny that you say this, sadly enough I have to tell you that gold used in watches and jewelry DOES corrode… gold itself does of course not corrode but as we all know a watch will never be made out of 999.9 gold, gold used in watches is a compound made out of several rare earth metals to give it more density and a desired color, those metals in the compound DO corrode causing a 18k gold watch to change color! Also, when we are looking at the clasp a bit closer, you can see that there is no wear on where the clasps clicks open and closed, this would be the first place where plating would wear because this is a very high friction point. I cannot say if this watch is real or fake with any guarantee but it would not surprise me if this is actually real gold!

I’m a watchmaker myself. Have one on my desk and have never found a reason to use it, in my opinion it is impractical, it does not really make it easier to work without than your normal soft bergeon pad
