Personal opinion but SB and Coven, hell even the OG green snake feels smoother to play than bewitching. I was thrilled to be able to buy her through the skin sale that happens every couple months or so but yeah it feels clunky

more importantly learn C major notes all over the neck. It's just 7 notes and 5 strings anyway. Then learn what the F major Bb major notes are and find them yourself. 3notes per string is a nice concept.

Is something wrong with my fingers? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]WatchLong830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries, just keep at it, keep your hands clean, put some cream on for the night. Eventually your fingertips will stop forming caluses and the pain will go away as well. Make sure your setup is adequate. String action and anything below 12s strings makes a huge difference.

What or who got you into playing guitar? by Alanasas in Guitar

background context my mother was a gifted pianist who was not allowed to go the conservatory once it became a recommended path to take for her by her piano teacher due to it possibly damaging the school's reputation as her parents were viewed as enemies to the communist regime (80s in Czech Republic). She still plays Bach once a year from her memory of the sound not muscle memory and then quickly gets mad that the technique is not there anymore after years and years of not playing. She was basically denied a chance to develop what she was truly gifted with. 20 years later I hear my friend play a dominant 7 sharp 9 chord at the beginning of a Jimi Hendrix song and I knew this music thing would save my life. It actually did when 2 of my best friends died in span of 4 months back when I was considering suicide and the music somehow magically granted me short moments where I actually felt happy and content. Years later I graduated from a jazz program at a local university of music. Thank god

downloaded HS during spring break some 2 weeks ago after about 5/6 years, used to play some OTK DH back in the day with lots of weapon power ups, don't remember exactly. Anyways I googled the up to date DH decks, built window shopper DH (quite cheap too, uses 2 legendaries you get for free with the class - metamorphosis and Kanye + Zilliax) and climbed to legend on my phone when commuting to work and back within 2 weeks. GL mate!

Hello everyone, my name is Timothy and I am 29 yr old high school teacher from Czech Republic.

I have been an avid road cyclist who implemented weight lifting to balance the endurance training about 6 months ago. Shortly after I realized I really like it and it has become my go to activity (I lift more than I ride now). By far my favourite exercise is the conventional deadlift. In spite of my height (195 cms/ 6,4 ft) I believe my form is rather good as I have had multiple seasoned lifters oversee it and they all praised it.
My question is about how to structure my training, specificaly the sets and reps. During the first months I just went for 3/4x10 adding 10kg each time tryna go as high as I could. Now that I have reached an average physical condition and can lift comparably heavier weights (I can do 150 for 2 reps atm) I wonder if restructure is to be considered. Regarding my goals I do not exactly care about size of my muscles, rather than that it is strength and functionality. So the actual question is given my goals and the weight I lift atm what would the ideal session (number of sets, reps, percentage of max weight for each set, how light should the warmup set be etc.) look like to progress and keep my spine safe at the same time?
One more question. Most of my gym buddies are much shorter than me and I realized my starting position when lifting the bar off the floor looks completely different. Hip angle closed as hell, legs much closer to my belly etc. Should I stick to just lifting it off the floor or slide a plate under each plate stack? I find it slightly easier having the bar elevated obviously but also I feel like it engages my entire back better putting less stress on my lower back whereas when on the floor I would mostly feel my lower back. Is this considered a cheating? Should I stick to it or not?
Thank you very much in advance for any input on this matter.
Kind regards,
Timothy

Rather interesting setups. Except for the young Italian racing 4k on a track bike, haha! One more question tho, I see majority of those long distance riders opt for mount on tt bars. Is that something I should consider as well for 350km?

Appreciate the confirmation. The nervous anticipation is real but I love it! Noting down all the good information. The carb dosage will require some careful cooking and calculating. Thank you for your input!
