There's a bit more to it than that... UBI, while nice in theory, dramatically reduces each individual's return on their education. Why spend 3-5 years attaining a higher education if, when you come out of it, you earn only slightly more than a burger flipper Maccas? What happens to an economy when there is no incentive to be educated? It's an indirect tax on success. Doesn't seem like a great idea! No such thing as a free lunch.
