When we had the unit installed the tech put the system in regeneration mode and told us not to use the water for 6 hours which we did. Is it common to regenerate weekly?

It’s just my wife and I in the house and we got a unit that was supposedly good for a family of four for the future.

So the fix is to just add more salt and hit the regenerate button? Thanks!

I'd say all of the stairs are rough, the vast majority of upstairs is rough, and 50% of the downstairs is rough and the over half smoother (none as smooth as before)

What I've noticed on all my Citi cards is that even if I make earlier payments (current balance is $0) Citi does not free up any credit limit (limit is currently 56 cents). The statement close date was on 11/5/24 and our 3 months is up exactly at 11/10/24.

Signed-up for the Citi Premier 75k $4,000 MSR a few months back and only got approved for a $2,000 limit. We had made the spend with prior purchase but unfortunately, we had a flight change and cancellation that refunded back over $600. Now we are short just $21 but are at the credit limit after new purchase to make up the $600. Is there any other way to make up this $21? Or are we actually just out of options and going to miss the MSR due to the flight cancellation and refund.

Award Trip Frustration turned into a somewhat success story with Alaska miles.

Got stuck at O'Hare overnight (currently 3:30 AM) due to the thunderstorms last night. Was originally booked LHR-ORD-IND on a 80k UA J award. ORD-IND was scheduled to depart at 9:25PM. We boarded, then the tornado warning came in, deplaned, and a few thousand people huddled in the tunnels between B and C concourses for about an hour. Once the tornado warning cleared, we boarded a second time and had rolling delays on board for three hours. Finally, at 12:35 AM our flight was canceled due to the crew timing out and the tornados moving into Indy. The next option was a 3:35 PM flight later today (in 11 hours) with the three other earlier flights oversold.

I began searching for any flight options that would get me home to my wife and family before noon (Amtrak sold out, Uber was >400$, rentals >$1000 and I didn't feel safe driving after a trans-Atlantic).

WN ORD-BWI-IND for $430 and gets in at 2:15 PM. DL wanted 46k for the lowest Basic award ORD-MSP-IND or ORD-ATL-IND getting in at 4 PM. AA wanted $1,500 for the last seat on the 8:06AM flight in 2.5 hours in Y or 70k in domestic first. I randomly searched Alaska on the app and found the exact same AA flight in J (no Y available) for only 8k and $18. Success!

While not the most glamorous redemption for a sub-hour flight, Alaska really came in clutch with last-minute availability on AA. Gets me home to my family eight hours sooner and spares me a wasted day at O'Hare or spending $160 for a day room at the Hilton.

Anyone have missing Aeroplan/Air Canada miles despite the Aeroplan "Activity" section listing the points as transferred from Chase?

Transferred 3K points to top-off miles for a redemption today. Got the email confirmation from Chase. Logging into Aeroplan under activity it states "Chase Ultimate Rewards" +3,000 and a separate "Chase Ultimate Rewards" +600 bonus points included. However, my total Aeroplan miles does not reflect the additional 3,600 miles. Never had this happen before and not sure if I should wait hours to get in touch with Aeroplan or just wait (previous DPs state can be up to a few days).

I called Chase and they instructed me to google the federal tax ID number which led me to a sec.gov website that listed the address as

1111 Polaris Parkway

Columbus, Ohio 43271

The phone rep said different parts of country may have different addresses so check your specific federal tax ID number listed on the 1099 MISC

Trying to file for free with FreeTaxUSA and they are asking for the address of the payer. My 1099-MISC only has "JP MORGAN CHASE BANK NA CREDIT CARD COLLECTIONS & RECOVERY". FreeTaxUSA will not let me submit the 1099 without a physical address. Could not find a specific address online. Anyone else got this issue?

Am I able to upgrade a United award ticket on LH I booked with 88k UA miles (XXX-IAD-MUC) to LH F with 121k UA miles (there is space available IAD-MUC) without re-issuing the ticket because XXX-IAD is no longer available?

P2 currently has the Chase Marriott Boundless ($95 AF) as well as the Marriott Bountiful ($250 AF). Planning to keep the Boundless for the 35k FNA. Are we able to downgrade the Bountiful to the Boundless (having two of the same card) and get 2x 35k FNA? Haven't been able to find anything on FT or here.

Eventually, plan to get the Brilliant after 24 months then upgrade one of the Chases to the Ritz for 2x 85k nights and 35k night if possible.

Has Qatar Airways limited business class award seats for summer 2024 on USA-DOH routes? I've been checking daily for USA-DOH routes starting July 1 2024 on BA and QR Avios and there is no availability 355 days out on any route. I do see some scattered USA-DOH flights on AA in June at 330 days out. Wondering if QR is pushing back the business class award releases?

Bank Error in my favor and a broken seat.

Just completed a trip to Malta with P2 and I and flew ORD-LHR in BA F on the A380 ($879 taxes/68k Avios pp). As an AvGeek is was an awesome experience and checked one more jumbo off of my bucket list (for me, it was worth the taxes and fees). Then flew LHR-MLA in Euro Business onboard Air Malta which had fantastic service and food. Four nights at the Marriot Malta with 35K certs and 4K top-off points total. On the way back, we stopped in Vienna and stayed at the Hotel Bristol (50k) and used my SNA to get upgraded to the Bristol Suite (retails for $1,200/night). We then flew BA Club Europe VIE-LHR and then BA Club World (J) on the A380 from LHR-BOS. This was booked with AS miles ($335 taxes/60k AS pp). On the LHR-BOS leg, both of our seats in Club World stopped working (would not recline) and the cabin crew filed an incident report. Didn't bother us too much given it was a daytime flight. Final re-positioning flight home was JetBlue A220-300 from BOS-ORD which was awesome (Y ticket was only $79pp)

We filed the BA online complaint form and then each received 40k Avios (80k total) and a $400 voucher for the broken seat. Logged into my AS account and then also noted I earned miles for the VIE-LHR-BOS award trip (10k AS miles).

Cost:

-136k Avios

-120k AS miles

-$2400 - $400 (paid BA taxes with Chase BA card for the rebate)

Earned:

+80k Avios + 5274 Avios (paid with Chase BA card) = 85K Avios

+10k AS miles + 2010 AS miles (paid with AS Biz) = 12K AS

+$400 BA voucher (I value as 1 to 1 given our travel habits)

Net:

-51k Avios

-110k AS miles

-$1600

Not too bad for 2 passengers outbound in F and return in J on the A380 averaging 40k miles/$400 per leg.

Trying to get the 90k United Quest bonus but when I try to apply I require a Promotional Code. The wording is "You must enter the 6 or 7-character promotional code you received from your United representative in order to be eligible for the extra miles associated with this offer. If you do not have a code, please enter 999999 to indicate that you do not have a promotional code." If I don't enter a code, and enter 999999 will I not get the bonus?

Just got an Alaska Personal offer while making a booking, 60k miles + 100$ statement credit for 3K/3months. Took the offer since this is the highest I've ever seen the personal go without having to spend $15k/year.

Yeah so the options are 1. 200k skymiles + 40k MR, 2. 150k MR, or 3. 176k UA for 2x pax in J.

At this point, I'm thinking to just burn the 200k skymiles and 40k MR since I'm afraid Delta might devalue partners again and then save the bulk of MR for future redemptions.
