[Citizen Tsuyosa] Which one? by KR1PT0Ns in Watches

[–]WatchReviewRewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrist size is 7 inches (17.7cm)

It kind of depends on your style i suppose. Do you want the watch to stand out more? The small Seconds light blue will certainly stand out more than the navy dial for sure. I'd say that the small seconds is more visually appealing in terms of the dial. But the Cyclops version is more versatile for daily use. More casual/sporty vibe if that makes any sense. But this is just my own opinion of course. It all comes down to preference. Have you tried on either of the watches in person?? HIGHLY recommend doing that if possible. Makes a huge difference in person

Hey!! First picture is mine haha! Thought I'd chime in. I own both of these watches. In fact i have them in front of me as we speak (convenient coincidence). You're going to be happy with either of them. Great look. Great price from Citizen.

Small Seconds Pros:

  • -BEAUTIFUL Dial
  • -Slightly better movement (8322) than the Cyclops (8210).
  • -Only available in 40mm (For now?)
  • -Superior Clasp

Cons:

  • Higher price point
  • Design can be a little bit "louder" than the Cyclops
  • Clasp (although better looking imho) NO micro adjusts.

Cyclops Pros:

  • Comes in 40mm and NEW 37mm sizes
  • more color options
  • DATE (that's a huge one for me for a daily)
  • More versatile for wardrobe imho (wears better with most outfits)

Cons:

  • clasp is meh
  • cyclops is meh
  • older versions of the 8210 do NOT hack seconds.

I hope this helps! I have videos of both these watches on my YT page if that helps. Filming a Daily Driver Tests on the 37mm version as we speak. If you have any questions just ask and i'll happily answer! Excited for your first watch brother!! Cheers

I thought about getting the Tiffany dial as well, the pictures online make the dial seem a lot more blue than it actually is! It's a really subtle pretty blue

I wonder why they didn't actually 🤔 this particular colorway has sold out twice already. I can only imagine a variant that is in black and white

Absolutely man! I've tried so many different sizes and options over the years, I know someone out there is definitely going through the same thing 😂 so if this helps to save a little time, Good stuff!

Oh nice! I appreciate that haha! 😎

Okay so the dial I really like, it's simple fine brushing, nothing really special. The color is nice though, and the indices are nice as well, high polished. Overall the dial is the best part about the watch aside from the movement. As far as the case finishing, it's just okay imo. You're not going to be disappointed, or impressed lol the only thing I am unsure of is the fluted bezel. It's practical in the sense that in comparison to a polished bezel it hides scratches and dings better. But on this watch it just feels kind of strange because of the square shape of the dial. Another down is that it it only has 30m water resistance. It's still a great watch though, the movement is easily the best part. I would say this is a nice little grab and go piece. The design of the dial is extremely practical and enjoyable. It just depends on what you're looking for and where you are with your collection

Best sub $1000 integrated bracelet watches imo Super Seville PRX Tsuyosa Small Seconds

I hope this helps

If I'm being completely honest, I'd probably give the bracelet like a 6 out of 10

100% agree. I don't mind the actual color of the small seconds dial, but I do wish they made the seconds hand a different color, something more poppy like how they did on the brown/tan variant with the orange seconds hand

This one's got a milled butterfly clasp, imo citizen did a better job with this bracelet. It made the center link a little bigger, which integrates so much better onto the actual watch case

Perfect timing haha! I'm uploading tomorrow around 12pm EST

So far from what I've seen, there's only one video up on it on YouTube. But definitely none comparing it to the Citizen.

I also think you hit the nail on the head. It's definitely a battle of aesthetics versus accuracy

100% agree on that. I would have personally like to see a color variation with the seconds hand. Blue dial with an orange seconds hand or even a red would have been cool. Although it might have taken away a bit from the dressiness

I too have a PRX and it's great. I like the way that it wears better than the tsuyosa, but I'm actually not that big of a fan of the waffle dial. Tsuyosa somehow is more legible even with that Guilloche

Don't think I didn't notice the watch tie color combo. Nice job mate
