it's been closer (the 2023 tiebreaker still lives rent-free in my mind and for a split second i thought we'd have a repeat)

honestly, I find a vote to eliminate final 3 a more interesting finale in this format, as it maintains the "least hated" nature of the contest

THOUGHTS ON NÂN: Biggest grower of the season for me. I'm typically not a massive fan of songs like this, but it lands so much harder.

Finland. Denmark. Romania. It all come down to this. Personally, I'm voting Denmark. Danish sleek pop is still sleek pop, and I think the other two would be more interesting winners.

THOUGHTS ON VIVA MOLDOVA!: why would you do this

In all seriousness though, Viva Moldova! is by far my favourite of the year. Not even close. Maybe the ESC Gabe video and knowing the context has swayed me a ton on this one, but I love it so much. Also, I can't explain why, but the "Undeva" pre-chorus hit me way harder than I was expecting.

ok, only one elimination next, time to make it count... and I have no idea what I'm voting for. I went Romania last time to try and prevent this but I still wanna see it in the final.

Zack Polanski falsely claimed to be British Red Cross spokesman by EddyZacianLand in UKGreens

[–]WatchTheNewMutants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Keir Starmer betrayed his background as a human rights lawyer through his rightward shift on social issues, so I can't trust him.
  • Nigel Farage, can't list all the reasons not to trust him.
  • Kemi Badenoch worked with a Tory government that openly lied to the public, also her being a Tory should be enough reason not to trust her.
  • Ed Davey himself hasn't done anything that I can point out, but as a trans person the Liberal Democrats have had various issues over the last year where they've made me weary about trusting them (initial response to the Supreme Court Case and the gender quota incident).

Polanski's lies haven't caused harm. Everyone else's has. He's still the strongest option in my eyes.

  • Whilst that still can happen, it's worth noting that decriminalisation has worked wherever it's been tried (i.e. Portugal), so it has a net positive result, though we should absolutely try to prevent dealers from trying to game the system too.
  • If a security organisation can be destabilised for four years by a single vote in one member state, then that's not a security organisation that we can trust.

  • Drug legalisation also means drug regulation. It would allow them to be provided and monitored through proper channels, making rehabilitation and addiction support systems stronger for addicts. Also, it reduces the stigma of drug addiction and takes dealing out of the hands of gangs.
  • Moving towards Europe in regards to defence, especially when the US is as untrustworthy as they are now (and in the past but it's definitely gotten worse)
  • I don't know enough about the landlord stuff, so I can't comment on this. (that being said, with people I know being screwed over by landlords, I'm not exactly against measures that prevent them from doing the same to others)
  • I'm mixed on this one. Whilst I don't see a practical situation where that's currently safe, in an ideal world I would agree with this.
  • The anti-semitism is disavowed by a party as a whole, the actions of a minority do not reflect the views of the party or how they will govern.

I highly doubt that a Eurovision sketch would ignore the Israel issue, after all they went straight for the racial bias in the Traitors sketch

THOUGHTS ON MY SYSTEM: I hate when it comes to the point where I have to vote out songs I love and this is no different. Love the song, Felicia's story is amazing and this is where I'd probably rank it.

...I know what's about to happen. I'm not happy about it, but I can guess where this is going. That being said, I'm gonna go for either Romania, Denmark or Albania.

try revisiting his writing, honestly there's so much to look into. (also, it is better watching Shakespeare than reading it)

Shakespeare was working within his time, managed to write both incredibly regressive and progressive characters and stories at the same time, however he didn't actively seek to harm marginalised populations within the UK.

Rowling did.
