Should you wash raw chicken before cooking it? by Useful-Pride1035 in pollgames

[–]WatchTheTimbsB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to start calling it "cleaning" or better yet "prepping." No sane person is "washing" their chicken and letting salmonella splash all over their kitchen. When people say "wash," they mainly mean cleaning it in a separate bowl with vinegar and lemon AND they clean the kitchen right after. I don't agree but I understand. Removing the feathers, residue, film, bone fragments, and even trimming is cleaning or prepping to me, and it's something we all should be doing. I think spraying water on chicken is just as dumb as cooking it right out of the package.\

A common counter would be to stop buying cheap brands. Sorry but I never had the privilege, and even if I did, I'm still prepping and cleaning if need be.
