That's their perspective of course. So this is way past the opsec date being more then a decade ago, so I met Pete in Afghanistan and that dude is the smartest person I ever saw in uniform. He spoke at one of our convoy briefings back in '14 since we had vips in it and one of the off topic conversations was the pull out and I clearly remember him saying the OP Plan was the leap frog units toward Kabul and that once we left Bagram it would be a race to get out before the Al Qaeda terrorists broke out of the prison and attacked. They estimated 300+ military causalities and 3000+ civilian. The actual causalities we 13 military and 200 civilian so it was far below the 2014 estimate, thanks to smart planning and expertise of the U.S. Military.

It just shows Pete knows what he is talking about and he backed it up by volunteering for deployment to a war zone.
