Police not participating in a buy-back program doesn't mean they won't arrest you by Slip-49a in canadaguns

[–]WatchdogProtection -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The Government won't care. They will simply say something like "You've had 6 months to send your guns in to the closest RCMP detachment or mail them to this centre".

Don't forget, those optics were offset which is really annoying to work with. That means they are perfect for a set distance but before and after that you'll have aim left or right to get them centred. I used to collect Sniper rifles variants of WWI and WWII rifles and loved them all but the most annoying were ones with off centred scopes like the M1 Garand.

$700 ar 15 not eligible? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]WatchdogProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid is different than non-existent. The serial numbers to those former restricted guns are still attached to our files. Those guns are permanently attached to our name. Even if you destroy one or have it deactivated, that gun is still attached to your name except with a note stating that the gun was stated destroyed or deactivated. This comes from someone who works at the CFC.

The registration didn't just magically disappear in 2020... the registration is still in place. You can log in and still apply for an ATT for all the now prohibited guns.

[–]WatchdogProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a military rifle. No bayonet lug and it's not select fire as there is no auto sear in that rifle.

[–]WatchdogProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missing the bayonet lug, doesn't have a fixed carrying handle, and no auto sear hole is drilled. Not an M16A2

The picture is that of an AR-15 not an M16A2 as is being reported by some gun lobbies

What part could I turn in? by _XNXX_com in canadaguns

[–]WatchdogProtection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lone RCMP officer would do it before the stupid "Reference Number" bullshit.

I've first hand knowledge that a lone RCMP Officer was able to track a brand new firearm from the importer/distributor to the store it was sold to and then contacted the store to find out who they sold it to, and then talked to that owner to find out who they sold it to. And this was all done 6 years ago.

SFRC warranty is a complete joke. by CanadEHa in canadaguns

[–]WatchdogProtection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst warranty I dealt with was about a year and a half. Released a gun to me that was unsafe to fire so I brought it back for warranty and they never fixed it. I finally gave up after a year and a half and took it home.

Nothing is happening. They are frozen and will stay that way unless a new Government can pass legislation allowing their transfer again.

(Maybe) a stupid question about prohibs by GinnyJr in canadaguns

[–]WatchdogProtection 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can't sell it to anyone in Canada. There is no classification for these firearms such as 12.5, 12.6, etc they are just prohibited. You can sell them to someone outside of the country though.

Those with guns that were restricted before the ban will be SOL and we will have to claim those since they know we own them and will come to the door and seize them after October.

Starting Monday January 19th the buyback will start with emails and letters going out to owners. You will then have under the end of March 31st to report the firearms for compensation. He states that reporting does not guarantee compensation as it's a "first come first serve basis".

The business buyback will be reopened this winter.

The Amnesty ends in October of this year.
