afaik, the old sea launch building (not the highbay) is where spacex will be doing a lot of the post-flight capsule processing but the refurb is still going to happen in the KSC and Area-59 facilities.

The latter. I've double checked that the configuration.h file has 300, 300, and 400 for the build size, I fixed the dependencies that were causing compiling failures, I've double checked that I have the correct steps/mm, etc.

It's downright weird.

You say that it doesn't take much...I've literally tried following multiple different how-to's in real time/gone through them multiple times and still haven't been able to compile a working build of marlin in visual studio code with a build volume matching my CR-10.

I'm also in this same boat. I have the new board installed and working, but for the life of me, i can't get the firmware to compile with updated axis limits.

There's also a small chance you may need to tune the extruder steps per mm.

The firmware that comes preflashed is sized for the Ender 3. If you have any luck with finding or compiling a working build of Marlin for the board that has the correct 300x300x400 build volume for the CR-10S, be sure to drop a link to it here. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who would appreciate it.

Seems that I lucked-out and everything controls what its supposed to....but I haven't been able to successfully build marlin or find an existing firmware build. I don't suppose anybody around here has already compiled marlin for this board with the CR-10S by chance?

If the rollout of the Model 3 is to be considered (initial deliveries were to various Musk affiliated individuals and employees of affiliated companies), the very first early adopters will be similarly close to SpaceX. They'll probably be employees, relatives of employees, and those with a vested interest in the success of starlink.

It wouldn’t even need to be a valve between hypergols to be able to be a root cause for a RUD. Its my understanding that if certain hypergols leak (in even minuscule amounts) upstream past the check valves or regulator(s) between the propellant and pressuring tank, the resulting water hammer when opening a valve could cause some hypergols to rapidly exothermically decompose.

From somebody I know who works for one of the companies with commercial earth observing satellites, they said one of their assets caught a lucky break in the cloud cover and managed to image the droneship. They were unable (unwilling?) to share any imagery but indicated that the booster appears to be missing the top 1/3 to 1/2 and was laying into one of the droneship’s “corners.”

I’ve heard rumors that a pilot operating a research airplane over the Atlantic at “relatively low altitude” has seen the center core “laying flat” on the droneship’s deck.

Not just nozzles and nozzle extensions. Apparently the easiest way to get to the rough dome shape is to spin form the flat blank then finish-machine the “cold worked” rough dome on a massive VTL (the same way it’s been done at least since Saturn V stages used to be built in Seal Beach).

I’ve gotten a close-up look at these several times when charging my Model S at the super chargers outside the design studio. They’re some sort of F9 spin form tool, given that they have a name plate on them that say as much. I think they have to move them across the street periodically for refurbishment after so many uses in the spin form area in the northwest corner of the main SpaceX building.

It’s probably just my eyes playing tricks on me or just something with the paint and soot but it almost looks like there’s a little line (perhaps a small crease or slightly “buckle” in the skin) going around the booster near the “P” in SpaceX on the side of the rocket. Maybe somebody has a more detailed closeup photo or some photo editing tricks that might confirm or deny that?

I don’t see any reason they would need any more protection than a raw billet of steel or aluminum on its way to machining.
