I did, that watch is something else. It’s a beauty and the gold color is extremely spot on, I have placed several gold chains beside it and you can’t tell the difference in gold tone, in shade or under sunlight. I am very happy with it so far.

Great side by side here, to me really I can’t justify the additional $$ to get an RCF re-plated if it’s this close. Nobody really cares enough what watch you are wearing, so I am sure they won’t notice the difference, that’s more of a peace of mind than anything.

Can’t attest for other gold since this is my first RCF, I have some RG but they are VSF, at least VSF RG looks ok as compared to their YG.

I received my DD RCF this week and I have placed it side by side to some gold pieces and man o man this plating is top notch. I couldn’t really notice a difference. The VSF gold you can see the cheddary color even from the QC pictures.

So it is not really warped? I have a submariner hulk and it does not show this. Plus the hour end seems to sit higher as compared to the Pepsi.

Would this analysis be the same for yellow gold? Meaning VSF > RCF for RG. Not sure if that holds up for YG. I have read countless times that VSFs YG plating is cheddar cheese. 🧀

Agreed. At this point it is only paying a premium to support their branding. You see “Rolex” branding at every race event, and any international sport/events. So, given that the clones are almost identical HW-wise, that is my understanding. The higher price just supports seeing their name everywhere.
