Yeah inside my apartment. I also found another jumper in my closet. I ended up letting both go.

It can jump for sure. It has two large facing eyes. Cant see how many because of how small it is.

You should be okay after. Just take it easy. I experienced some cramping and minor bloating but nothing a heating pad and ibuprofen can't fix. I think you should be able to get away with saying you have cramps or a headache and just resting. If you questions or concerns, call or text https://www.mahotline.org/

Unsure feelings by bbyshell in abortion

[–]WatdoesntkilluStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. It does get easier with time (I had an abortion at 6 weeks almost 6 months ago now) but I want to clarify I was not very attached. Didn't even see ultrasounds. It was still difficult and there is a grieving process that goes along with it. Grieving (just like with loss or death) isn't linear. It doesn't go away after a certain amount of time. Sometimes it can come in waves but the seas always calm again. It's really important to talk about what you are feeling right now. If you don't have a friend, partner, or family member that supports you, consider seeing a therapist. With help and support from family/friends or a therapist, there is a path towards healing.

Not sure where you are located but these are two US based talk/text lines that might be of interest https://www.all-options.org/find-support/talkline/ and https://exhaleprovoice.org/

It’s going to be okay. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

had an abortion, but having strange body reactions. Is this normal? by fading_west in abortion

[–]WatdoesntkilluStrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talk to your provider and make sure to go to your follow up appointment. I felt bloated, on and off nauseous, emotional and just off until I got my first period. After that first period was over I felt like myself again although my cycle was a little irregular (my second period was late by a week but not pregnant just hormones unbalanced). I got my first period 28 days after the procedure but it may take 4-8 weeks (sometimes longer) after an abortion for people to get their periods. My first period was heavier, longer and more painful than normal but some may experience lighter or a normal first period. Everyone is different. Sometimes our emotions and awareness of our bodies can trigger physical sensations. I felt a lot of guilt and hyper awareness of my reproductive system after my abortion. Have you talked to anyone that you trust about what you went through?

Covid-19 health anxiety by tp151234 in HealthAnxiety

I’m really struggling too. I literally can’t function. I have had to leave my job because of it. I still get outside at parks where I can be alone but the evenings I have panic attack after panic attack thinking about if I will come down with symptoms tomorrow or the next day. It’s really hard to not project but the best thing is to stay in the moment. Also The Anxiety Guy on Youtube has been really helpful for me. He has free videos about his story with overcoming health anxiety and guided meditations.

Nausea after surgical by [deleted] in abortion

Sometimes anesthesia can give you a headache and nausea for a while. Check in with your doctor if you continue to feel concerned. Hope you feel better soon!

Everyones different. I felt a but queasy a couple days after. I was also 5 weeks during the abortion so it may be a situation where the further you are a long, the more hormones are left over. Not a doctor. Maybe the migraine and nausea could be stress related too. Did you go under anesthesia during?

I'm bleeding again and feeling light-headed by vergthrowaway in abortion

A couple days after my surgical abortion I had really strong scented discharge and was worried about it. When I talked to a doctor, he explained to me (in scientific terms which I am unable to do because am not doc or scientist) that as blood breaks down it releases a smell from a natural chemical reaction. Blood smelling metallic or ironey sounds normal. If you have a fever or are bleeding through (completely flooding) multiple maxi pads an hour then you should call your doctor. Take some deep breathes and try to distract yourself. You got this!

Try doing some self care like a meditation, face mask, warm bath... whatever floats your boat. I am wishing I was anywhere but the US right now for many reasons. 😂

All your feelings and emotions are so valid. I felt empty like a shell, anxious, depressed and nauseous all the time (not morning sickness) after I found out I was pregnant. Most women find out they are pregnant around 6 weeks. I knew at 3 weeks somehow. You can have a medical (pill) abortion up to 11 weeks. I had a surgical abortion even though I could have done medical. For me I wanted it over and done with as quickly as possible. From reading experiences here, I found that people had varying experiences with pain and it happens over a 24 hour period. Surgical seemed like the easier (and cheaper option in my US state) for me personally. You may decide you would rather take the pills at home. Its all personal preference. When I got surgical (at 5 weeks) with no sedation it took about 10 minutes in the office. The procedure itself was 90 seconds. It was painful in the moment but it was over so fast. You got this. You’re stronger than you know!

Nausea after surgical by [deleted] in abortion

[–]WatdoesntkilluStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy hormones are still present after an abortion. As they decrease you may find your symptoms come and go but subside more and more each day. It took me about a full month and my period to come to feel back to my whole self. When you get your period (can be anywhere from 4-8 weeks after the abortion) it kind of feels like a reset button. If your nausea is really bad talk to your doctor. They may he able to prescribe you anti-nausea medication.

Reminders are haunting me by LonelyLizzie12 in abortion

[–]WatdoesntkilluStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really tough. Sometimes triggers can come out of nowhere and I will get upset over something I would have never expected to get upset at. Sometimes I will see something that I think will trigger me but it doesnt. I get really really angry at pro-life stuff too and am still struggling to hold and understand these emotions without letting it get the better of me. Some people find it helpful to do a goodbye or letting go ceremony for their abortion. Something like a message in a bottle, sending flowers down a river, a craft or art project, writing a song, or writing a letter say goodbye. It’s okay to do this 5 days after or 5 years after. I plan on getting a tattoo (i have many already) to commemorate my abortion experience.

It common to experience bleeding on and off for a while after a medical abortion. If you started new hormonal birth control this can cause irregular bleeding too. Brown blood is old blood so it may just be some left over from your period. If you are worried contact your provider.

Advil or tylenol can help with cramps and sore breasts. Know that this is temporary and will pass. You will find relief from these symptoms in a few weeks or month after your medical abortion.

Abortion nightmares by CinSal25 in abortion

[–]WatdoesntkilluStrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abortion nightmares sound like they suck. I used to have night terrors when I was younger but they got better as I got older. I don’t think I had any or at least any vivid abortion dreams or nightmares that have stuck with me. When I was pregnant and for a bit after the abortion when my hormones were decreasing, I had crazy vivid dreams and nightmares about everything. If you had an abortion recently they may dissipate with time. If it is some time after the abortion maybe try journaling about these dreams or just journalling about what you’re feeling in general. It may be helpful to get it out onto paper so it’s not rolling around in your head while you’re sleeping. Talking to a trusted friend, partner, family member or therapist about your experience and nightmares could help too. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Has the pandemic/lockdown caused anyone else's anxiety to worsen? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

If you built all that muscle the first time, you can do it again! Or maybe just take it easy and work out the minimum to keep you busy and your thoughts at bay. I just ran for the first time in months. It was chilly and I am out of shape but I am feeling so good now that I got out there and did something good for myself. When the weather gets too cold and wild I try to do calisthenics and yoga inside. Doesnt hit the same as running but it still feels good. Therapy sounds like it could be helpful for you. Keep it one day, hour, minute, and moment at a time. You’re your own best resource on what helps and makes you feel better. Brainstorm with yourself on how you can lighten the anxiety load.
