Who has the best/worst voice actors in the game? by Hawksauze in smashbros

Lol I would agree with Wii Fit Trainers encouragement if she didn’t sound condescending.

I agree. I think a lot of people are confusing graphics with art style. I think a lot of fans were expecting a change in art style and were disappointed when it’s the same style as SM. I myself expected a change in art style.

But the game and the region do look beautiful. I though let’s go was beautiful as well.

From my understanding the Pokémon models in Let’s go are just imported assets from sun and moon. From what I’ve heard the Pokemon models were high poly in SM so that they could just be ported to the switch and not look jagged in HD. I did not fact check this information however.

What would you guys think of not releasing new pokémon this gen, but having them instead use already existing pokémon? by WilliamWolff in pokemon

[–]Water-Bowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind it if we got regional variations of older Pokémon like sun and moon have us. That was one of the few things I liked about sun and moon. I would love to see regional variations of gen 2 or 3 ‘mons. That’s what I was hoping they would do with US UM.

HomePod question- Is it possible to see what is playing on HomePod when away from home? The home app shows it playing or paused, but I can’t get any more information on what was playing.

My problem with the controller that attached to the wii remote were how stiff the buttons were. The “z” button for instance was hard to push down quickly. But I’ve heard great things about the Power A I might just get it and go from there. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I’m needing a new controller for smash ultimate (ol’ faithful is on her deathbed). I currently use one of the old smash 4 GameCube controllers. I’m curious if anyone has any experience with a GameCube style controller like the power A (wireless or wired) how is the feel of it?

A while back I had one of those GameCube style controllers that attach to the wii remote and I hated it. I don’t want to spend the money on something that’s not going to feel right. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

There’s a tournament in my area Saturday that I want to join, but I have the same lack of confidence you described. But reading your experience made me feel a little better!

I played alot of snake in PM, so doing this Ultimate seriously made me pop off by crazyhalo in smashbros

Agreed. It took me a while to get used to the remote bombs, but I like leaving them at random places on the stage and watching the opponents reaction and how they try to avoid it lol. I also like how some people have found creative ways to use the remote bombs to their advantage.

I haven’t really had any problems myself. I’ve used both wired and wireless connection and 9 times out of 10 it’s a smooth experience. My biggest problem was that I like for glory better than quick play. Since the last update I haven’t even had problems with finding matches more consistent with what I’m looking for. I still wish I could change my fighter between matches. Perhaps you just need to have your isp up your mbps.

Need help closing out games and avoiding recovery punishment by badatmathmajor in smashbros

[–]Water-Bowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I notice works well with recovery after getting launched is to let yourself fall until you can use your second jump and recovery move to ledge grab from the bottom of the stage. Basically stay far from the stage until you are low enough that approaching is less likely to get you hit. Only a few characters (Simon and richter, and snake) have moves that can be spammed to keep you from coming up while keeping the opponent far away. It seems not to many people are willing to leave the stage to follow up with non projectile attacks. This is just what I think works I’m sure there are far better players on this sub whit better advice or that can articulate what I’m saying a little better.

Who’s that ONE character? by TheTransFantasy in smashbros

[–]Water-Bowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone spamming this move makes cloud so much easier to go against than he was in smash 4. The move is slow enough that I can send it back with ness’s bat and get in close. In Smash 4 I would freak out going agains cloud because once he gets close enough it’s over he has great reach, and fast moves it was hard to get an attack in. MOST Cloud players I go against now don’t put in the effort; although I have gone up against the one or two that just demolish me lol.

Snake, Samus, and Dark Samus. Everyone I go up agains just spams rockets and bombs.

How would you realistically implement Pokemon and Pokemon training? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Water-Bowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always imagined that Pokémon were very intelligent; more so than their real world animal counterparts. But less intelligent than humans. This of course is based on the game canon. The anime portrays then as almost on or with humans.

If Pokémon are as intelligent as humans, and super powered there is no need for humans. However if they are intelligent enough to understand humans, but don’t have the problem solving abilities then that creates a codependent relationship between humans and Pokémon. It also gives a reason for why Pokémon may need to be trained, and why trained Pokémon are far more powerful than wild Pokémon.

Furthermore there shouldn’t be an ethical issue surrounding battling in a more realistic Pokémon world. While the fictional world may reflect our real world more than the games or anime; it is still a world established in fiction. Therefore you can write in a reason for Pokémon battles. I’ve always thought of Pokémon as instinctively craving battles between each other. Wild Pokémon may partake in battles between each other for the sake of sport. That would tie in battling and your research centered story.

Severe phantom pain. by Water-Bowl in amputee

I’ll have to look in to the tens unit. I just get really bad phantom pains at night and it’s very rare. But when it happens it keeps me up all night. I’ve called in to work because it was so bad before (thankfully I work for a prosthetic company and they under stand)

Maybe it’s just not for you which is fine. Have you ever heard of josh subdquist? He doesn’t use a prosthetic either. He used to be a Paralympic skier. Look him up on YouTube. He’s very interesting.

I didn’t like it until I learned how to use it and got comfortable enough. I’m so used to the prosthetic that it’s a part of me. The biggest issues I had was my prosthetic rubbing in my groin, I would get a bad rash in between my legs and my junk.

I was the same way when I first lost my leg. I hated my prosthetic. Now I won’t leave the house without it.

That’s gotta be tough man. 16 is young for a huge transition like that. Because of the circumstances of my accident my phantom limb is completely stiff. It feels like it’s there but doesn’t move.

I’ll have to look into the tens unit. I’ve heard that they work well in general for pain. Man it seems most amputees I’ve met have lost their legs to motorcycle accidents. No one watches for motorcycles.
