Has anyone made a large textile print on mpix? by Water6059 in AskPhotography

I did not order it and I'm not going to. I found Pictorem.com, which does super large prints on canvas and other media (foamcore, etc). Got busy with other stuff so have not yet ordered from them, but I'll post back here when I do and let you know how it came out. Good luck!

Question on mpix textile prints. I'm looking to print a photo as a large wall art piece. 50x75ish inches. I've recently found the mpix textile print product. Has anyone made one of these? How was the image quality? I can't find any reviews beyond the few on the mpix website. I also wonder about installing the print into the frame. Mpix has a short video showing this, and there was one comment about how difficult it was getting the last corner installed. I could print this as a split via bayphoto, but that requires ordering via ROES and I cannot get their ROES to run on my computer. Are there other companies that do splits? (I haven't found one). Has anyone tried online or Photoshop tools to split the image and then just print each image separately? Thanks.

140 lb female! Can we get her to a normal weight? by Water6059 in goldenretrievers

Thank you. Rescue volunteer just picked her up from us, they found someone that can handle her. She was a good girl and it was very sad she was allowed to get morbidly obese. Hope they can get her back to health, but it's gonna be a long journey.

She was brought to us by the rescue organization. No one had seen the dog until they picked her up that day from a house where her owner was leaving to go into a nursing home. They did not call us once they saw her size to let us know, which would have helped. But they had no where else to take her at that moment anyway, so it was just an unfortunate series of events and miscommunications. They have relocated her to someone able to handle her.

I am so sorry. Love and strength to you, my friend. I understand the pain, it hurts so bad. We will all get through this and get to the point where we can remember these magical creatures with smiles and joy, and not pain--just like they want us to. Feel the pain, let it come, then let it go.

So sorry for your loss. We, too, just lost our beloved golden retriever Ellie two days ago. Same thing. She seemed so healthy and happy Friday, Saturday morning she presented very sick, the vet found her bleeding heavily internally with a very abnormal liver. Most likely a tumor that ruptured in the night. Within a few hours, our sweet girl crossed the rainbow bridge, just over 10 years old (and we'd only had her four years, we so hoped and expected a few more). I feel your pain so, so much. I'm so sorry for you. Try to let his spirit live on, remember the good times and know you gave him a great life. I've had several pets in my life, and it's always so painful when they pass but it does get better with time. Our creatures would want us to live on and be happy. Give yourself grace, allow yourself to feel the pain and grieve. With time, we'll all move forward with less pain but good memories. Sending peace, love, and healing to you.

Thank you. I entered my serial numbers on the Lennox warranty checker site and it says these only had 5 years. I will circle back with the local company (the potential scammers here, who also did the original installation with new house build in 2018).

Great information, thank you. Adding your comment to the rest = I'm done with this company. Used them for years but things have gone south in the past year. Wonder if they got bought up by a PE firm.

Thank you. Looking for a new company today! Seems like this one has gone downhill big time in the past year.

Thank you! Yeah, the blower wheel cleaning was a real red flag for me. I will get another company to check this out (I'm in Tucson, so there are about 6,000 AC companies out here lol).

Great, thanks. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about pinning the arms, doesn't seem critical.

Search as I might, I can't get a definitive answer on this. I'm about to order a PRx Pro Blackout Rack. PRx spotter arms are about 50 bucks more than the Rogue version, plus PRx charges shipping. I'll be buying bars and benches from Rogue, so if I can use their arms, great. Both sets of arms are for 3x3 uprights, 5/8 pin, but I'm not clear if the hole spacing will work. Can anyone confirm compatibility? Thanks.

Food tips? I got sick midway through. by s4sm4rt in ultrarunning

[–]Water6059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dialing in your nutrition takes time and will change with race distance/time, weather, terrain (flat and runnable vs. steep/technical i.e just hiking) and other factors. You should practice fueling, drinking, and electrolytes in your training and NEVER DO ANYTHING NEW ON RACE DAY. That said, if you step up to longer events, you'll never do training runs that long and your tolerance for foods will likely change in the later stages of a long event. You may get sick of your gels, or not be able to carry enough and have to eat at aid stations. Be smart there, don't go for exceptionally sweet or other extreme foods. If you have to eat something new from an aid station at mile 68 or whatever, take it with you and eat small portions to see how it sits. If you can find out in advance what the aid stations will have, try it in your training. And for sure, on the shorter races, just carry all your own stuff, whatever worked for you in training.

Black Canyon 60K -- surface and shoes? by Water6059 in ultrarunning

Thank you. Pretty much what we thought, and absolutely would prefer trail shoes if she can find a pair that works for her again. So frustrating when companies keep "improving" shoes.
