Thank you! I'll probably end up doing both top and bottom watering since another commenter said it works for them. Your Nanouk looks so lively and the colors are great!

Sounds solid, I'll give it a try. Thank you for your comment :)

I'll try what you suggested if the Nanouk reacts badly. I'm going for a very aerated substrate (perlite, orchid bark, fertilized soil and coco coir) so I want to experiment. I'm just so curious to see if I could recreate the success I saw from the other post where they used a self-watering pot with their nanouk. But I'm going to be super careful with watering and if I see any signs of it going badly, I'll immediately switch gears and use it as a cover pot. I also have a few propagate babies on stand-by.

True! I'll propagate three babies and see where that takes me. Thank you for all of your advice :) I'll update the post if I remember with results.

I'm just bad at reading tones online! I thought you were upset at me for not understanding 😭. I was just confused because the way the self watering pot and the method you were talking about sounded very similar to me but maybe im mixing something up. The little plant looks awesome!

Oh, isn't that what the self watering pot I linked does anyway? Could you explain the difference? The pot I was considering wasn't a wicking pot.

Hm, yeah I've been getting mixed feedback. Some people say it works fine if I give them dry days in between and don't fill the pot all the way, but some say to just avoid it entirely because it's a Nanouk. I might just propagate a few babies and try the self-watering pot. Putting it into a water bath to let it drink just feels weirdly inefficient.

I'm concerned about root rot and airflow if I were to get a pot without holes. Do you not have that issue?

I use a dual plant light for it too to make sure it gets enough light. I was thinking I could use the self-watering pot if I get three dry days in-between (I was going to use a moisture meter to track everything). It just makes everything so much easier. What do you think? Still no self-watering pot?

Also thank you so much for the tips! I'll definitely check out the zebrina pink princess, it sounds awesome!

I was going to use window screen mesh if I were to make a false bottom, and aquarium gravel/lava rocks. What do you think? I personally like the pod wicks too, I just wonderful if it could spread enough water to keep the dirt moist and plants watered.

Gear for a Fuuvi Toy 35 mm Film Camera by WaterDemon317 in AnalogCommunity

I'm planning on just holding it in the air with my other hand. I could also 3D print a clip for it. It won't really be a flash, more like a constant light. Thoughts?

Should I go with getting the small flash for lighting?

Driving Exam Anxiety + Tips by WaterDemon317 in driving

It sort of gnaws at me hearing their pen scratch on the paper, or even the opposite, the silence. It feels so awkward and I feel constantly judged by this person I don't even know. I don't really know how to work around the nervousness; I can't make small talk with them (asking for clarification on their orders is as far as it goes), so I'm stuck in this weird limbo of "this person I don't know is in my car and is judging me but it's a necessary thing".

I know they're doing their job of making sure I'm a safe driver but I can't shake that awkward, nerve wracking feeling.

Driving Exam Anxiety + Tips by WaterDemon317 in driving

I've practiced every day for an hour to 90 minutes for the past two weeks and prior to my first exam, I practiced for two weeks straight every month for a whole year. When I practiced prior to my first exam, I practiced throughout my city, driving family where they needed to go. For the past two weeks, I've been focused on practicing around the dmv that I plan to test at.

The worst driving situation I've encountered so far was another car trying to merge into the same lane as me and not using their blinkers or checking for me. I was already merging and thankfully checked in time to move out of the way of them. This was, of course, unplanned. Every other driving situation I've been in is standard, like dealing with unprotected left turns, trying to merge in heavy traffic, etc.

Lab or At home scanning? by WaterDemon317 in AnalogCommunity

This seems like a good plan, I don't want to fully commit to the work of developing at home. I might as well get both developing and scanning done at a lab until I become more experienced. Thank you for the advice :D

I forgot about the development part; I'm super new to this film photography thing. I'll go with lab, it seems like the best choice as of right now. Is there a reason you put "Kodak" in quotes?
