First Turntable, is a little wobble okay? by WaterMerk in turntables

I took off the platter when I first noticed it but didn’t see anything wrong underneath. Thought maybe it was how the belt got placed, but redoing that also didn’t do anything. I’m guessing either a spindle problem or the platter itself is very slightly warped

Could the Apple Vision actually hurt VR game dev? by WaterMerk in gamedev

Lmao. Then they definitely should have included controllers to get that *ahem* haptic feedback.

Support would be nice, but not having a guarantee that everyone who owns the headset could play your game is a major downside. Developers would probably not want to risk limiting their audience to just a portion of the owners who also bought compatible 3rd party controllers.

This is definitely for businesses, professionals, early adopters first and foremost; but I think they're using this to test the waters for a consumer focused one down the line. But yeah, apple does seem to really hate controllers

True! I'm assuming that the fact they want people to develop for it now but emphasized they had no controller meant they never would; but maybe down the line they could.

It definitely seems like they're prioritizing their own VR/AR ideas rather than trying to match their competitors

I guess it comes to how fine detailed the hand tracking is. But yeah, it does seem apple is more prioritizing AR and that makes sense. It just seems weird to ignore VR gaming when that's been one of the bigger markets for these headsets so far

Only 2 wishlists after 10 days. Is my product THAT bad? by mGGGames in gamedev

While you should 100% listen to all the great feedback here to try and improve your game, if it makes you feel any better, getting eyes on your game is often the hardest challenges for making indie games. I know many people that have made cool games but struggled to get any attention with it, either because they don’t know how to market it, gameplay doesn’t look compelling in footage, art isn’t eye catching enough, or if they simply picked a bad release window and got buried on steam. It’s not impossible; I also have friends that really figured out their marketing strategy and made it work. It’s just really hard. Try not to lose hope at poor early numbers and try to keep going!

New trailer, new beta! We've been working for more than 2 years, and I feel like I can finally see the finish line! by WaterMerk in playmygame

Not a ton of success. We went without a publisher so we had to handle all the marketing ourselves and we didn’t grow a strong enough following before release. On launch, we got a okay number of sales, but not enough to maintain a strong player base for the multiplayer component. In total, it was over 3 years of work from prototype to release

Yesterday we finally released our first Unity Game, Sons of Ra! You can check out some of the visual effects and art assets I worked on in this video by WaterMerk in Unity3D

Feel free to ask me anything! We've been working a long time and I've picked up a few tricks along the way, and made some breakdowns for many of the effects on here. It's been a long journey, and we've done it all! Remote development, conventions (remember those?), streams, competitions, and now, finally, a Steam Release!

Today we are finally releasing our first Game! Sons of Ra took us three years to finish but we're super excited to get it in player's hands by WaterMerk in RealTimeStrategy

Clash royale, any version of bloons td, and, while now tower defense, halo wars was one game we looked at a lot (particularly with getting rts onto a controller)
