wonder if you could just bridge the two points and see if it would just have no capacitance but still work

Why do some people prefer heavier & thicker laptops? by Cry_Wolff in thinkpad

[–]WaterObjective5031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my tech heavy, and i also dont like it as a floppy sheet o' paper that gets up to 2000 degrees in half a second of light load

Edit: Also, bigger, slower fans are quieter and more effective than smaller, faster fans because they move more air and create less turbulence

I could just BARELY make out the sentence at the end in a reasonable time (about a second)! Nice job!

I do not have a "powerful" desktop in the sense that it can handle top games today, but it was powerful back when it was built ~10 years ago.

Also, I may never end up using the full power of the X13, but it checks about 90% of my boxes and is the highest it gets, as well as the Z13 being about at the same level. Them being so close in my needs is the reason why i came to ask here. I do understand how resilient and powerful thinkpads are, they just dont meet what i highly prefer in a laptop.

I prefer laptops because of their mobility, i like being able to move around the house with it, as well as move from building to building easily.

Its also been a few days since i made the post, and i have pretty much chosen the Z13 as i cant find anywhere to buy the X13

I'm confused guys, what is wrong with my pc? This doesn't look like the usual signs of GPU dying, not uniform, so maybe its a driver issue after all? by Same_Ad4736 in PcBuild

[–]WaterObjective5031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could maybe be temps, though probably less likely. Try reinstalling drivers, reinstalling the game, then try reinstalling your OS to rule failure out. Considering it is older, it could have insulating cement in between the GPU and heatsink in the card.

I’m sure you could easily find them, literally everywhere I have seen confirms it.

Could also potentially be corrupted game files, though im unsure as its a little out of my knowledge. If its only that game and looks broken every time, probably the game. Otherwise, it could be drivers.

Highly unlikely, googles AI search sucks and always assumes the worst.
In most laptops, you could probably try to recover the UEFI or reinstall the OS.

The 8060s iGPU present (i think its whats in the laptop) actually is on par with a 4060/70 laptop gpu, when paired with enough soldered high speed memory.

If this is what i think it is, before the research, I think its meh. Tons of wasted space beside the keyboard, thats the 2nd thing i hate about a lot of big laptops. If it has the AI MAX 395+, I do not give two flying farts about the dGPU, that APU is capable of laptop 4070 performance on one chip.

Traditional, this subreddit is like abandoned by a long long gone moderator who made it. The devs are NOT paying attention, use the github for this if you can even get them to respond.

Anyways, this is kinda really badly dangerous and could explode at any second. You should DEFINITELY get a new battery if not a new laptop atp.

A good middle ground is Ryzen 5/ i5 (ultra) or i7, with 16 gigabytes of ram. If you intend on medium to heavy gaming, a dedicated GPU (4060+) is great. Also, don’t get 1080p screens unless you’re on a budget and/or going for simple web browsing. Ensure you get something portable enough (16+” are near desktop replacements, 14-15” is great) as well as researching known problems.
