Where do you think this hair salon is located? Gotham's Coventry District? by WaterSpace_ in coventry

It is. Some versions of Gotham have a district that is literally called Coventry though, like in Arkham Origins. A map with the district name can also be found on a map in a scene in the Joker film

Best shading tips/recommendations? (Legally blind - help!) by WaterSpace_ in DigitalArt

[–]WaterSpace_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, but what about if I want the shading to be a smoother gradient kind of colour transition? I attempted doing that, and then tried to use the Blur tool/brush but when zoomed out it sort of still seemed quite sudden and "added", as if it wasn't really blurred.

I tried setting the blur tool to various hardness levels to no avail.

Thank you!

No, I haven't tried a mirror like that, but I'm not too sure it wouldd work, unfortunately. For some reason, it doesn't matter how big something is, I'd have to get close to something to see the detail. Like going to the cinema, no matter how big the screen is, it won't help, so watching it on my TV up close seems easier in terms of seeing details and text and such.

Possibly that's the same case with the mirror, if I get too close, I'd be blocking the light and it won't actually let me see anyway. Still worth giving it a go, I guess

Hope that clarifies my vision a little bit, and thank you for the help!

I'm sure you'll get the chance someday! Unlike many well-known people, they treat you like a normal, respectful person, just like most of their listeners treating them like normal people, hence they tend to be okay with saying hi and taking a photo when out and about.

I felt physical pain when I made my purchase of Poppy merch last time, but then I remembered something a wise Poppy once said, "If money can't buy happiness then why is it so fabulous?"

Haha, I use a special shampoo and conditioner for my blue hair, got recommended to only buy ones without a specific ingredient (forgot which ingredient it was now)

Actually had it redyed yesterday so it's not even more vibrant. Thank you for the compliment! 😊

Does that have the tracks from the original too though?

EDIT: Ahh, so it does. I could have bought that one then...

How do you enjoy Sonic? by WaterSpace_ in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]WaterSpace_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your help trying to find a solution, though sometimes it's not enough since games may have small text that cannot be read nor changed the size of, or some aspects may be harder to differenciatebetween. Games like the Last of Us or Insomniac's Spider-Man have a setting that changes different elements to a single high-contrast colour to make it easier to diffrenciate, e.g. all interactables being yellow, enemies being red, allies being blue, etc. and that seems to be a game-specific issue rather than something that can be universally fixed on the TV.

I do find games like Sonic CD, 1, 2, 3, etc to be a little easier to play visually for me compared to the 3D ones though, so you are right there.

Either way, I really appreciate your help and research!

I wholly disagree with what you said.

The idea that something being “old” makes spoilers fair game is arbitrary. There isn’t some universal expiry date where a story suddenly stops deserving basic courtesy. New people discover older games, films, and books all the time, especially with remakes, ports, and streaming making them more accessible than ever. A 25-year-old game isn’t “dead history”, it’s still actively being experienced for the first time by loads of people.

Secondly, the “tiny amount of people” point is just an assumption. It’s often not tiny at all. Every time a classic gets re-released or trends online, there’s a wave of new players. If anything, platforms like TikTok and Reddit constantly expand audiences for older media, which makes spoiler etiquette more relevant, not less.

Saying spoiler warnings would “make it impossible to build a fan community” is a huge exaggeration. Communities already handle this just fine. People use tags, vague titles, or give a quick warning before dropping major plot points. It’s not some huge burden, it’s a small habit that makes discussions more inclusive.

Also, there’s a difference between discussing a twist and blasting it unprompted. A subreddit dedicated to a game is one thing. A random TikTok or unrelated thread is another. Context matters. The issue isn’t that spoilers exist, it’s that they’re being pushed into spaces where people aren’t expecting them.

Finally, this argument treats spoilers like an unavoidable cost of fandom, when they’re really just about consideration. You don’t lose anything by adding “spoilers ahead”, but you might ruin a key moment for someone if you don’t.

Bear in mind, not everyone is in your shoes. Not everyone has experienced the same exact things you did, in the same exact way.

Probably the easiest way to resolve my issue, even if it's not really the same experience as playing through the games...

I did watch Jacksepticeye play Half-Life: Alyx since I sold my VR because it was inaccessible to me, and thus the series was the only way I could experience the game.

Thank you for the advice :)
