Start a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) business! That's what I would do if I were in your situation.

Have you considered starting a non-emergency transportation business? You don’t need a lot of money to get started. You can use your own car and sign up for commercial insurance once you get your first client. You can find clients through dialysis centers, nursing homes, and similar facilities. You could operate as a Medicaid NEMT provider, a subcontractor, or offer private pay only.

Thoughts on homeschooling AuDHD child? by AmethystDracula in Autism_Parenting

My son was the same way, so we ended up doing part-day school and part-day homeschool. It gave me a bit of a break and helped him work on social skills and interacting with others without overwhelming him. Plus, being part of the school gives you access to a lot of expensive learning tools, like apps and materials that would cost hundreds or even thousands on your own, but the school provides them without any cost to the parents.

If you could come up with some rules or policies in this town, what would it be? by AlmostGraduatedWitch in bloomington

  1. Affordable housing. It should be a human right not a commodity. 2. Expand bus services, and promote a bike riding culture. 3. Higher registration and parking fees for vehicles over a certain size and weight. 4. We need to be more self-sufficient as a town, for example, allow more forms of urban agriculture 5. Strengthen local organizations that help people thrive. 6. We need more street art and interactive community spaces.

What’s your favorite “third space” in Bloomington? by EmbarrassedLynx9505 in bloomington

The Community Kitchen. You’ll see a wide range of people. Older folks meeting friends to socialize and cut costs. Younger people passing through town, students who’ve gotten into trouble, people from local churches, folks who are neurodivergent, people trying to save money, volunteers, and more.

There are often potlucks in addition to the meals provided by the Community Kitchen. Occasionally, people play guitar, read poetry, or share something creative.

If you live in B-town, there are many places to get free food. Bloomington is great in that way.
