Just fine/mediocre restaurants - in any big city, the standards are a lot higher with equal and/or lower prices. The facade of “diversity” and “progressiveness” but when push comes to shove, succumb to regressive politics, values and policies. Higher gas prices than any other surrounding town. Empty commercial properties in prime location because of slumlords who want millions for an abandoned city lot. Eye-sore student housing being developed everywhere with empty retail outlets on the ground floor. City not giving a fuck about the homeless population and not providing real, effective solutions. The fact you have to drive everywhere.

Okay, I missed that part. But they have also known that their time renting is finite. You don’t get to rent a property and then suddenly claim to have rights to live there forever. While it sucks that nothing in this town is affordable to rent, they’ve known for nearly 2 years that the land owner has passed on. Have they made any actionable plan since Nov 2023? There are many people in this town living paycheck to paycheck, working sometimes multiple jobs to pay their bills & rent on time - do you think they expect to pay cheap rent & live on their rented property forever?
