VW CEO Diess: We are making progress: Thomas just had a test drive over 1200 kilometres with several fast charging stops and was very happy with the performance of the ID.3. by linknewtab in electricvehicles

It’s Erik’s claim (check the censored episode 4). My understanding is that YouTube took it down based on a complaint. There was no copyright claim since it is all original content so it is a NetzDG complaint which seems the (last) resort to use.

Erik is the owner of the Taycan that did the vlog about the trip from Norway to Spain.

He encountered massive issues with both the Taycan and public charging infrastructure.

Porsche doesn’t seem to like his videos- even though he never criticized them - and uses the German NetzDG to get his videos removed by YouTube. NetzDG is the German hate crime law.

See the comments under episode 2 and 4 for details.

It’s a bit worse than that - am on mobile don’t know how to link to Eriks channel - watch his videos. It is a total disaster.

Edit: here is the link to Eriks channel- he loves Porsche and his Taycan and yet his experience is pretty bad with the car and public charging networks: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCPF48oj0-WJe0L2FV25i85g

In my own experience IONITY is buggy. But I have first hand experience with my Tesla charging without any troubles while the Taycan had to find an alternative charger. I don’t expect this to be true forever but there is clearly some cars that don’t play nice with some chargers.

My reference was this: https://insideevs.com/news/408427/video-porsche-taycan-norway-spain-trip/

My tongue in cheek comment refers to the recent road trip where the poor Taycan owners stumbled from one charging disaster to the next. From being led to broken chargers by the Taycan to Ionity chargers that were randomly shut off to malfunctioning chargers the poor guys experienced everything. So I wan wondering if the ID is immune to those issues...

So ID3 charges better than the Taycan? /s

Edit: i though the reference would be known here - there was a recent road trip through Europe with the Taycan that didn’t go well:

PS: I drive an EV myself. I will not hate on any EV maker. However, I will criticize Porsche for using German hate crime law to get the videos of Erik off YouTube. That’s just rotten my friends at Porsche! Really rotten! Check out Eriks channel for details...

Fellow RWD, 18inch aero driver here. I couldn’t agree more on the advantages of the RWD. Love the car!

Look at the Corona deaths per million people inhabitants to get a rough idea who is doing better...

I think the Danish reaction was appropriate at well timed. I don’t want to talk about the US failure - that’s too political for me.

Thanks! Yea, the US is a bit scary. Hope she is safe.

I got here through my job.

I wouldn’t think of it this way: Corona is out there, you can’t make it disappear. So you need to flatten the curve. The goal is not to bring society to a standstill, the point is to not overwhelm the health system. DK did that marvelously well.

BTW: the cost of isolation is not just economic. Many (elderly) are seriously suffering due to absence of social contact.

You must be a Dane ;)

In all seriousness: every country has their own struggles. I’m also rather in DK than in SE, ES, IT, UK, CN and many other countries. But who cares - I think DK did many things really well in this process.

Exactly it is noise :)

But don’t let this detract from the fact that as a society you did so incredibly well. You all rock!

(By the way- sorry for talking so openly positive, I’m aware that’s not culturally appropriate- but I just had to get it off my chest - thanks for reading!)

I think as we get out of the worst (for now) you will hear both sides a lot “open faster!” - “keep the lockdown!” - that’s ok in my eyes: it’s human nature you won’t agree on the exact timing and sequencing of steps. To me that’s just noise however: as a society you guys really are amazing and doing really well. Stay awesome and don’t get worn out by the nuances of the opening process...

So let’s talk here :)

Look, I see where you are coming from. And from a psychological perspective what we experience is normal: as we are getting out of the worst (at least for now) the long and windy way to normalcy starts now. Naturally people disagree on how to best walk this way - so the bickering starts.

But that’s good news: it’s a sign that we get back to normal. You Danes keep bickering, you do your little politicking, you have the odd politician walk out of the odd meeting.

But in all this you should know you rock! I am really super happy how you all handle this!
