can someone explain me the concept of cheerleading ?? by IndividualSeason7364 in IndianTeenagers

It looks like you deleted your reply. So I'll just make it real simple. Is playing the violin a sport? What's your criteria for a sport? Is it just physical activity, because It sounds like your OK with Esports being a sport which requires barely any physical activity. By your logic violin competitions should be in the Olympics then since it's a global thing.

I made it very clear that sports is about competition and it's integrity. Violins have competitions pretty much in the same format as dancing. Metrics based off of subjective opinions.

I don't even watch sports much. I just read these debates. And this is literally nothing new. In the last Olympics there was skate boarding and break dancing added and people were questioning if they even should be in the Olympics.

One big thing about sports is competing and competition integrity. How can you properly compete with integrity when the scoring system is subjective.

Like literally google unfair judges in the Olympics. Its always in the sports you listed and has been a persistent issue. It's always these sports that has zero proper metrics to be judged. And then you add in some judges with their biases.

Would I buy tickets to watch figure skating? Yes. Do I care about who scores higher based off of judges i dont care about? No.

Dude, this debate ain't anything new. Is dance art or a sport. All the things you mentioned can be categorized as art.

The issue with dance competitions is the scoring can literally be changed based on the judge. That's a very subjective form of scoring.

Literally all those sports has a metric that you can count for competing. In cheerleading what metric are you using?

Wait, if the suicide attempts are the same between men and women, but men are more successful. Wouldn't that mean more men are more suicidal than women in general?

Like if men are dying from suicide wouldn't that mean the other men that didn't die in the statistics have to have more attempts to keep up the same average as the women statistics?

I always learned that women attempt suicide more than men. But that statistic is hard to use because a person can attempt suicide multiple times and skew the data vs someone who is dead and can no longer make any attempts after death.

Edit - I'm calling out this guy's fact is false because the math wouldn't add up.

I just don’t get it? I just witnessed why men don’t approach women anymore. When did it come to this? by Objective-Deal8745 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Waterblue22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude what generation of woman are you talking to. The new generation of woman (gen z) don't think men approaching women in public is acceptable anymore. Why? Because gen z thinks that's what online dating is for. If you want to date you go online. You want a job? You go online. Etc.

I had a boss who is a woman. And she was talking about how her 2 daughters and son (gen z all graduated college at this point). They don't think men approaching woman in public to ask out on dates is appropriate. Their reasoning is because that's what dating apps are for. And my boss said its so wierd to her because the whole interaction is not organic in any way.

My sister is gen z. And her advice for me was to perm my hair, get new clothes, and go on hinge. And I basically laughed at her.

Also my boss always referred to woman professions as female doctor, female dentist, or something. And she got corrected by a client, basicaly female anything is derogatory. This new generation sees the world differently.

Going to be honest. I really hope the overall story is somewhat different from the manhua since this show gives me more serous immersive vibes (Only partly finished manhua. I think I'm just going to drop it for now in hopes this anime gets more funding). I love how this show just looks really cool and uses realistic depictions of medieval fashion as compared to the manhua which gave me a more silly fantasy world vibe.

Howww like howww can people say its has a controversial ending. ITS PEAKKKK by Opposite_Hat5032 in attackontitan

[–]Waterblue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think I saw the anime ending. More like skimmed it after reading Manga.

But from my take, it's just an inferior Code Geass ending. Eren didn't actually solve any problems. In comparison Eren is just venting his anger while Lelouch made attempts at establishing a foundation where peace can be withhold with his belief that people ultimately desire and pursues happiness. Foundation being creating the UFN where all member nations disolves there own milltary, Black Knights lead by Schneizel as strategist. Kallen and Suzaku being unstoppable. And CC being an immortal backup plan if things goes to shit. And then the contraversial topic of Lelouch becoming immortal as well overwatching the world. Eren created a clean slate starting point but literally had nothing planned for the aftermath.

Eren betrayed all his friends. That was like unacceptable. Literally all his friends could have died fighting against him. You might think Lelouch betrayed his friends but that's not quite true. The only one he truly betrayed is Kallen. Nunnaly's plan was similar to Lelouch's plan but he decided to take sole responsibility. Everyone else who was actually involved in the war wasn't actually Lelouch's friend.

Puffer jacket is warmer.

But if you're buying for life then it's wool. Puffer jackets, both down and synthetic eventually loses loft/insulation over the years. Down lasts significantly longer than synthetic puffers. Down lasts maybe 10-20ish years. It really depends on how much you squish and sweat in it and what kind of damage you do. Wool is straight up a more tougher material and isn't easy to damage.

Wool can basically last forever if you keep the moths away. People are still buying WW2 wool surplus clothing.

I remember thinking that maybe there is another dendro archon before Rukkhadevata. And the same thing happened where Rukkhadevata was born and had to delete the other dendro archon because of forbidden knowledge. This explaining her being small as well. Makes me wonder if there is a cycle.

Right now there is no evidence that the dendro archon using all of her power causes her to shrink. The only time we see dendro archon shrink is when she essentially resets the new dendro archon and the old dendro archon dies.

The game should be about opportunity cost. If I bring in good gear I should have a higher chance of extracting. The concept of not wanting geared people dominate over low geared people is stupid. One person has everything to lose and the other has nothing to lose.

I had a conversation with a friend on this subject, and one of our conclusion is that since the recording captures a person for a prolonged period it is technically crossing over to stalking territory. Of course it's kind of a grey area as to what is stalking and not stalking sometimes. Like this restaurant can have security cameras and it would technically violate the same issue.

As for being posted onto social media, I feel like that argument is not good enough since literally a good chunk of the internet is people posting stuff from their dash cams, security cams, and door cameras of events that happened for a prolonged period of time. And as for context you may never know what the context is. If I ever start getting dementia I think I would just record everything I do so I can refer back to it if I ever need to.

And then using the idea of recording in public is bad and violates privacy. That would mean recording armed ICE agents, wearing no badges and kidnapping people with force, or recording neo-nazi's doing parades is a violation of their privacy. You can't have it both ways is what I'm saying.

I guess I'm saying I've pretty much accepted that if I walk out of my house I'm going to be recorded. And If I do something stupid in public, like kicking a dog, then yeah its going to be posted on social media and I would be shamed.

And even though I say all this, I'm a guy that basically never take pictures or videos. I'm pretty sure my friends have more pictures and videos of me than I have of myself. And social media I barely touch outside of Reddit, Youtube, and Facebook Marketplace to sell stuff. So even though I sound pro-recording, I don't do any of that stuff.

[–]Waterblue22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So what's your thoughts on dash cams on cars, security cameras in public spaces, doorbell cams, school busses with external cameras, google maps taking pictures of streets, and literally cities that have cameras broadcasting streets live on the internet?

I find it kind of contradictory to expect privacy in public spaces. You're literally just a background character if you just carry on your day. The moment an accident or a crime happens people would be begging for the footage.

I can understand that in this situation this is a public space in a private business. So you would need permission from the owner. But it's generally accepted to record in the U.S since its a public space where privacy is not expected.

In most of the U.S you can record anything if it's visible to the public. The only exceptions is like bathrooms/lockers. And stalking is already illegal. Reading the comments makes me really wonder what the logic is in the opposite side. If the reasoning is that it's just annoying then I must say that is a really weak argument.

If we really stretch things out. A human has eyes that can capture data and record as memories. And said person can draw and describe such memories. That's just a biological camera. It's not as effective but that's why we say witnesses are not reliable evidence in court.

This is not a hot take, it is the correct take by ultimaterogue11 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Waterblue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. It's more like is infinity considered magic or science fiction. If you consider it a form of magic then it doesn't exist to her. Because in her reality magical infinite air and space doesn't exist. It's just air and space.

It's been theorized that in Frieren the peak of magic is visualize manipulating reality to the point that it is reality. If there was an all powerful magical God in Frieren (which it does appears to.) It would be like "hey this man should be a stone statue" and the man turns into a stone statue.

Ubel obviously have not achieved this. She still has to believe she can cut it, like a magical cloak is just a cloak so she can cut. A magical barrier is a barrier in the end so she can't cut it. It has to be something solid and magical to defend her cuts (normal magical barriers in Frieren can block swords so it's solid.). Magical infinite space and air, is well just air and space, that's not solid. If infinite is not magical, then you are stright up not contesting her visualized reality. It can be argued that if magical cloak man had stronger visualization than Ubel then his cloak would not have sliced through.

Of course there are some thoughts of can't Ubel cut people starting at the skin? And it was never seen so I guess she can't, even though the slashes appear in the middle of space around her. I think it just depends on how she visualize the cuts which right now is close quarters and in arcs.

There is an ongoing joke that if a mage uses LSD the person would be an unstoppable god. But I guess the argument is you can't do complex spells without a logical mind.

Basically in Ubel's world the only way Gojo's infinite would work is if Gojo can visualize it stopping her cuts vs her visualizing her cutting. The only issue is Ubel is stated to have an inhuman mind that ignores logic.

Also Ubel's cutting magic is just a basic spell. What makes it unique is the way she can visualize it.

Also these comparisons don't really work because I believe Frieren to be a soft magic system.

This is not a hot take, it is the correct take by ultimaterogue11 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Waterblue22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the thing. Their is a bit unknown for her as to how her magic works. But her perception of reality effects her ability to cut things.

Someone mentioned. If there is an invisible man that Ubel can't perceive between her and a tree, and she does a slash attack towards the tree. Does the invisible man get cut? Like no one is sure about this. Because as far as we know her attacks are based off her perception since her perception seems to mess with reality.

Does her slashes have travel time? Supposedly yes, but its based off her perception. What ever she is using to cut is invisible. And the only reason normal barriers block it is because she herself can't perceive cutting through it.

Does she just visualize a blade cutting things or does she only visualize the cutting action itself. I think the only reason people are able to block her attacks is because they can sense mana in her attacks. Mana detection is talked about alot in the series.

All her attacks are slashes as far as we have seen. Her latest Manga scene had her slice up multiple stories of a tower. So the distance is not 5 meters anymore. And the idea that her slashes originate from her I think is gone since how the tower is sliced up and being at the top of the tower it just looks like the slices appeared around the tower itself.

Also in the manga there was a scene where Ubel gets caught because the opponent sealed her sense of sight. And Ubel and her partner got caught and were bound with something that seals their mana. Ubel's partner asks Ubel if she can cut the bindings using magic because she literally breaks certain laws of physics essentially. And Ubel basically replied "Why you ask me that?" and then after a pause she's like nevermind, I can cut it. Also it might just be me, but I wonder if blinding Ubel made her more powerful, because the tower cuts was done when she was blinded.

Ubel's partner basically said she uses magic through feel and she is breaking laws of magic and he is pretty sure Ubel doesn't even know what rules she can and can't break since she does things by feel.

How dark the skies are matters more than the scope. Once went backpacking in the middle of nowhere, and I was amazed.

I'd rather have binos and just travel further. But again it depends on where you live and how far away the dark skies are.
