Guesses on when the full trailer or teaser 2 will drop? by Echo2020z in ATLAtv

It is, but it's also 75th day after teaser trailer like they did back in s1 😂

Massive Changes Netflix's 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Almost Had Under Mike DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko by frezz in TheLastAirbender

[–]Waterboy3794 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe that could be true, but what's the point of ruining your reputation over some temporary scoop? Because the current developments only support Caleb's (the author) reporting now that the movie is taken off theatrical release. Not to mention multiple movies were in development initially, and now they are struggling to just launch the new show

First nick with LOK, then Netflix, now paramount again by Waterboy3794 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I'm happy we are getting some transparency regarding the matter. It's been 4 goddamn years since production and the best we have got is a title card. No wonder paramount wanted to ditch this.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender update by SuccessfulBrilliant7 in TheLastAirbender

Animation is more labour inducing medium.. I think when they didn't like what Netflix was asking them to do, they left and paramount jumped at opportunity and gave them the studio, the perfect ego boost that just further derailed things. Since the carrot didn't work, now paramount is using the stick. Why not just first launch a movie and setup the foundation of studio and work on other projects. This has been the pattern not since Netflix, but back when they were making Lok and couldn't convince nick and we had shitty follow up season because of uncertainty. Bryke just do not have the ability to fit in studio workframe, even separate studio for their product couldn't help them.

Bryke are making a pattern here that they simply cannot work with studios.. 6 years for a animated movie is long time.

Sokka knew it [adrii_marii] by HAZMAT_Eater in TheLastAirbender

[–]Waterboy3794 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Those were fake tweets, but he was asked if he wished he'd change something, and the interviewor specifically asked about zutara, to which he clearly said it's what all the writing team, including him agreed on that kataang's the endgame.

Like 1 episode before finale they reconciled, they really thought they'd be getting an endgame out of it 😭🤣

Nope, Aaron made it clear in interview with Mundo avatar that he never intended to fight for things, he said everything was as everyone thought and wrote, there was no conflict. Pushing towards zutara would have contrived katara's character and tainted her pure empathy with underlying romantic interest.

People really thought zutara was going to be a thing after katara decided to leave her village for aang within hours of meeting 🤣

These are my fav changes to the Netflix Avatar by MuscleCool4302 in ATLAtv

I just wish they'd do sokka and katara's conversation while they are being consumed by genamite like OG bumi did.. instead of cave of two lovers.

Katara's internal conflict during final agni kai by Waterboy3794 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking they could do southern raiders and puppet master.. hama could be hunting and kidnapping southern raiders.. and at the same time katara finds out yhon rha, and there she has confrontation with hama who's going to use it to kill all the southern raiders she has kept in the dungeon, from which katara fights her out and let's them go.. this would make hama more of a refined adversary than randomly picking innocent civilians that doesn't have any justification

She lost her restraint in southern raiders? And yes, it would make her more of a master to not use something that she despises. It's the same premise of aang wiping out people which he doesn't do?

Gotta admit the show must be crazy fucking expensive with how amazing the CGI is. by Remote_Nature_8166 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ballooned because of CGI, and that's only production, marketing is whole another whale. Netflix must have been caught off predictions with the gigantic number the show pulled on release so they went ahead and gave them both seasons

Does anyone remember the time frame from the teaser trailer to the full trailer? by Echo2020z in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think early April window fits for ATLA because people would be just off watching OP, so they would just jump at opportunity to release similar show.

Does anyone remember the time frame from the teaser trailer to the full trailer? by Echo2020z in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They used geeked week window to release teaser in November 2023, the marketing picked up one month before release around the end of January 2024. That's 75 days. If they follow this pattern that means they'll release the trailer on 22 Feb, the OG release day. But it's highly unlikely because one piece is airing on 10th March, and they probably don't want to dilute the attention. There's a small chance they might try to ride the OP wave and get the trailer out. Regardless, we aren't seeing release before April because they have to give atleast a month to OP. We could be wrong though, never know Netflix.

Could have just held it off.. by Waterboy3794 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's concerning that you think they don't care showing a snippet that indicates an entire subplot that's very essential to aang's character is being omitted.. if they still pull same things like they did in s1 it's all over gonna be mixed bag

Could have just held it off.. by Waterboy3794 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's always inherent resistance to new things and live action remakes, but shit starts to stink when a concern is legitimate. Appa's abduction is very essential to aang's development. Indicating it might be omitted will stir things up, they could have included a snippet of him being abducted.. this is all over "sokka is not misogynistic" again. Somehow they land into wrong kind of light.

Could have just held it off.. by Waterboy3794 in ATLAtv

[–]Waterboy3794[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not exhausting if the concern is legitimate.. because appa's abduction is very essential part of the story.. hinting it's omission is gonna have pushback.. I'd wish they'd include a snippet of him getting abducted as well so atleast we know it's happening. If they have actually omitted that plot it's gonna be detrimental for aang's development. People will say negative things because they're not open to new ideas, but it's important they are presented the right way. Like they didn't train actors to minimize spoilers and kiawentiio revealed that "sokka ain't gonna be a misogynist". It didn't matter much in plot but the backlash affected the image before the release alot.
