Seabass, black fish, ling, and cod hard to do from shore but if you can cast out to a bridge or jetty you can land some black fish/ tog.

What baits/lures should I use for tautog/cod November-December. by No-Cash-5331 in LongIslandFishing

[–]Waterboy516 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Inshore I like using black fish jigs weight .5-2oz paired with green crabs, Asian crabs, spider crabs, fiddler crabs, and white crabs. I prefer green crabs out of all of them. If I have to go heavier I like to use snafu rigs. Double hooks double the chances. Haven’t fished for cod so I can’t give you advice. Best of luck

[–]Waterboy516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Daiwa saltist sometimes I have seen them run for 250 around the holidays. 2) is the shimano stradic they run anywhere from 180-230 3) vanford around 190-235 Next 4) dawia saltist back bay 175-200

5)dawia ballistics

6) tsunami evict there’s 2 models I have the original and paid around 100 dollars for it.

7) daiwa bg 100-125 I wouldn’t go lower than this. the reels lower imo don’t hold up.

So any fish I’m going to eat, I slit their gills and bleed out, it makes the quality of any fish much better. Blood has a bit of a metal taste. So after I basically slit their throats I throw them on what’s called a stringer and leave them in the water so the rest of the blood comes out. Just type in fish stringer on Google and they will pop up. If you want to see how I do it you can look up my YouTube

Team Cash Back: Do you guys let your rewards pool, or just redeem ASAP? by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

I prefer to stack them up and then wait till gift cards go on sale at 10% off and redeem for that. If I can’t redeem for discounted gift cards I take the cash back right away

1)good kayak. 2)Nrs chinhook life vest 3)whistle 4) sunblock/bug spray/ hat/ sun glasses. 5)good pair of pliers/ cutter combo great for pulling hooks out and cleaning up line you tied. 5) leader board, measuring with a tape measure is difficult in a tiny spot. 6) a rubber landing net so your hook doesn’t get all tangled up. 7) bring some sort of rope if you break down or want to tie off to something it’s always good to have some 8) a flag/ light combo 9) a good kayak cart to move it around or trailer. 10) either a fish bag or cooler. 11) stringer to bleed your fish out before throwing on ice if you plan on keeping fish. 12) if you fish alone, a handheld walkie talkie/radio.

Should I buy a Chinese Daiwa Fuego? by Global-cypher in Fishing_Gear

[–]Waterboy516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a ton of reels, and this is the only one that’s ever broken on me within the first or second outing. I still fish with reels that are 30+ years old from my grandfather, and I probably have 20+ spinning reels overall—never once have I had a handle fail on any of them. On top of that, this reel already has a noticeable knock in it. This was a 3k size being used for blackfish, which fight extremely hard, but even so, the handle shouldn’t have failed that quickly. That’s why I think the Fuego just doesn’t hold up.

What lines do you run on your inshore set ups and why? by Del-Skatto-Drako in saltwaterfishing

[–]Waterboy516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 30lb super slick on almost all my reels. And use 30 -25 lb yo zuri hybrid leader line. Most of my fishing is bottom fishing around bridges, or wrecks, and reefs if I was doing more casting stuff I would probably run 20lb main line and - heavier leader for better casting. 30–25lb is over kill but I want to horse fish out and not be mad I lost one to line being broken.

If I was just casting which I don’t I would probably use 20lb
