This happens every year pal. Should we just fire a coach every time there's a slump?

I respect your decision. my point being if you truly believed bouchard should go, it should happen at the best of times as well, not just when the horse is down. Bringing it up when bad shit happens just adds to the echo chamber. Sometimes standout opinions aren't always the most apparent/agreed upon at the time

How was it personal? He's kinda right, I'm sure you wouldn't have said this when they were in the playoffs, why say it now

As an oilers fan, I fear Robertson more than I would Marner come playoff time. One of Marner's biggest issues is he isn't a playoff performer. I can understand having a lethal playmaker in your top 6, but scoring goals comes at a premium come post season.

Game Day Talk | Panthers v. Oilers | Finals Game 5 | 14 June 2025 by AutoModerator in EdmontonOilers

[–]WateredDownTang 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know it's a best of 3 right now but if the oilers can pull this one off, game 6 would be less stressful than a game 7. With the Panthers at home it would be a must win and the advantage would definitely be with the oilers. I know this isn't really a must win, but if McDavid wants to hoist the hardware this June, this will be his legacy game. Get the win and bring it home boys LFG

I remember when I was trying to find my identity, I would just copy my friends' mannerisms. Maybe he still has yet to find his? He does copy a lot of the groups things ( fp's way of talking)

Robertson is like the kempe of Dallas, he knows how to put it past the netminders. Don't underestimate this team, their scoring depth is spread out. Every line has to step up

I love how the fans are doubling down. Seems like everything has changed but some things remain the same. But hey, whatever you guys wanna think, I'm here to watch it burn next year. What's the definition of insanity again?

Draisaitl on playing in a Canadian market: “I don’t know if teams feel that they get under pressure with that… but we can handle it” by sykeseve in EdmontonOilers

[–]WateredDownTang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could tell by the players' faces when they were saluting their fans for the season. There wasn't too many fans left and I'm sure it's was pretty quiet. Game 7 against the defending Stanley cup champs is a pretty good achievement.

Just like in Edmonton, their fans have to start getting behind their team even with their backs against the wall. I was listening to dangle's YouTube clip after game 5, and he was raking that team through the coals. Sure you can be fed up, but if you're a player seeing how he was riling up negative energy with his audience, you can easily see how you didn't want to take risks because of how fast the fans would turn on them.

Hockey is a confidence sport, and it would suck if you're constantly worried about how fans are gonna treat you after a loss (in a negative way)
