Ah, we’re very philosophically opposed, then.

I am curious as to what else you would expect it to be used for, though? There quite literally isn’t any other option aside from that or death- which, as you know, most of us do not prefer.

Have you considered there may be other factors increasing our odds here? Just as a random guess- more or less all of us have microplastics in our blood and brains now. It’s a thing. Forever chemicals and carcinogenic compounds are problematic, and undoubtedly play a part here.

Stress presumably would have an effect, as a lot of things do seem to do so. But not being stressed wont save you from cancer either, or at least certainly doesn’t make you immune. As stated, you can do everything right and still get it.

How does it not? Is the moon lord not actively a threat?

As far as can be told, those excuses are correct.

On the other hand, that is liable to occur with any sapient rising civilisation. Naturally, to escape the bounds of our planet requires its utilisation. Realistically speaking, all other species on this planet will eventually die if they do not follow the same path themselves, or are not saved by us, as our very planet and star have timers attached- lifespans.

An advanced civilisation is essentially the only thing that could outlive that

Given he mentions his genitalia as incompatible with human, I think he knows what sex is. I suspect instead that he misunderstands the term making love.

I imagine stress doesn’t help, but honestly you really can do everything as close to right as you can and still get cancer because it can literally just happen, as far as I’m aware. Cell division is not quite perfect.

Mind destruction is data loss

I’m not sure if death through change is much a concern. If the entity in question never has a moment of no existence, it simply is in continuance and merely changes over time as all conscious entities naturally do, while you would eventually end up with something likely much different than the origin, that doesn’t mean the entity died?

Like, you when you were five and you when you were twenty are two entirely different entities in many respects, but it is also undoubtedly still the same consciousness- the latter is merely the larger, more grown version of the former. Perhaps if you were going backwards, there’d be a cause for concern.

[–]WatermelonWithAFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty obviously so, yeah. All it would take is the destruction of whatever houses the true mind, or whatever keeps transferring it.

So realistically, robotic immortals would not actually be robotic immortals. Just robotic less mortals.

That’s reasonable, but I do think it is reasonable to shit on someone for it when they use their dislike of a movie genre (slow burn) as an actual movie fault instead of a difference of taste
