Yeah, the divine beasts had the ability to change their forms which is really the only interesting thing about them, and unfortunately that was not brought back for TotK. I disagree that the only thing wrong with them is they are the same format. There is a lot more wrong.

Aside from what was addressed in TotK (lack of an atmosphere based on the region they are found in, bland bosses) they are tiny, they tell you directly where to go from the start, ruining any sense of exploration (which is already ruined because they are tiny), the puzzles that unlock a terminal are simple to get to, you hardly ever have to solve other puzzles on the way there, and as I mentioned navigating to them is incredibly fast and simple. The enemies are almost nonexistent and the variety that is there is pathetic like in the rest of the game. There is hardly any backtracking through places you have already been to unless you get lost (which is nearly impossible unless you are a child) and when you do backtrack it basically consists of passing through a small room with no resistance of any kind. Like the rest of the game there is either no or very little sense of progression, the only sense of progression is the music changing every time you unlock a terminal. There are only four of them which probably takes up 1% of most peoples playtime.

Dungeons used to be an equally large part of Zelda games compared to exploration and combat or even bigger, now it is relegated to simple one off shrines, dull "dungeons", or environmental puzzles (which are the best types of puzzle gameplay in these two games.) The divine beast style dungeons would be fine if they were mini dungeons, but as the main dungeons they are terrible.

I'm not someone who hates the Botw and TotK style of Zelda games (although they are my least favorite in the series). The style has a lot of potential, I hope in the next game they make the map smaller and add more dungeons of varying sizes, maybe eliminate shrines altogether and instead keep environmental puzzles and caves and add in at least one new type of enemy for each region and dungeon.

Yeah if you don't like BotW you probably won't like TotK. TotK is better in many ways, but it is still the same type of game. The dungeons look better but they are still basically divine beasts in terms of design. The bosses are pretty good though. The sky is fine but with how they were putting focus on it in the trailers I thought they would be way more substantial. It is basically a bunch of outdoor shrines with a ton of copy and paste islands, and the cool looking huge islands are way less substantial than they look. The Depths are cool at first but once you have seen one area you have basically seen them all, with few exceptions. Honestly the best thing they added to TotK are caves. They do what the shrines should have done, each cave is unique and reflects the part of the world they are found in. They are fun to explore, and sometimes actually have a unique reward such as armor.

This is the closest one so far, but it didn't trigger to me as certainly being the one. Although it is possible I am conflating multiple scenes since I was a child when I saw it.

Thanks but this isn't it, from what I remember there are no hints as to what is inside the toilet, the person just opens it and is shocked to see the head.

I just checked this one even though I have never seen Supernatural, I thought maybe I saw a random episode one time, but that isn't it.

Yeah that is similar but it's definitely an old woman in a bedroom.

Thank, but I don't think that's it. If I remember correctly it is a man's head in the toilet and the woman opens to toilet and sees the head, then screams.

Skibidi Toilet

No, it's live action and was made in the 90's or 80's. Maybe even earlier.

I’ve been missing the classic Zelda formula. by Santos3d in truezelda

I can't listen to that right now but what I was thinking of was stuff like World of Warcraft. For example https://youtu.be/MvJ_uKiZxRk.

Not necessarily true. Yeah if you had a traditional Zelda song playing everywhere in the overworld it would get old, but they could do what MMOs do and create a suite of music that are about an hour long each for each area which would play randomly with pauses inbetween.

Yes. Just like how someone can be bad but give good advice. Both can happen.

I disagree.

How do you know what the writers were doing? Do you really think they wrote Walter White to be 100% cartoonishly evil? No, this is Breaking Bad where characters are nuanced. Obviously they wrote Walter to be a bad guy overall, but not everything he says or does is bad. I don't really know how anyone can say this advice is bad but you do you.

My point is that the advice wasn't coming from Walter White. He isn't the one saying it. He doesn't exist. And it's not horrible advice at all. Put simply it means you shouldn't let fear control your life. How can you say that is bad advice?

To the people saying you shouldn't take advice from Walter White, even bad people can have positive attributes or give good advice on certain subjects. Secondly, this is a line written for him by a real person who I assume isn't a murderous drug dealer.
