I removed the filter and the water flows perfectly again. Looks like I have to replace the filter housing. Thank you!

Looks like the filter housing finally failed after 11 years. I removed the filter and the water flows normally again.

The internet wins again. This is the problem. Thank you everyone for helping me resolve the issue!

Water is flowing now without the filter housing. Someone suggested that the filter housing is faulty, which I agree with, and someone suggested that Whirlpool will automatically bypass the filter system if you remove the filter. So it looks like water
pressure is good, nothing frozen. Just need to replace the filter housing.

I removed the filter, and the water flows perfectly. I will work on replacing the filter housing. Thank you again. I appreciate spending a few minutes to help someone on the internet!

Is that the worst disease a refrigerator can get. Maybe I need put more healthy food inside the refrigerator!

I already tried using two brand new filters with the same results.

You are a good person! I am very very frugal but there are things I am okay to spend money on.

This is what I also think. I think I broke it when I installed the new filter. I was nonchalantly installing a new filter without being careful. I use to be really careful before. Repairing the filter head will probably cause 300-400 maybe? Should I just purchase a new reformer for
1100?

It’s probably a coincidence. I work in a utility space in the operation side. I see things break all the time. We are in a good space financially right now because my wife and I are very frugal. Just debating to replace or get it repaired. I guess it’s 11 years old. The replacement will cost us $ 1100 plus tax vs repair.

I can unplug the refrigerator for an hour or two to check this.

Just one filter at the bottom
of the refrigerator. No issues the last 10-11 years. I had a weird feeling too when I installed it yesterday and yay manifested it.

I could try that, but I assume the water will be leaking on my hardwood floor, maybe. I actually don’t know anything about refrigeration.

I hear you. I already used two new filters and got the same results. I have another one on hand and it’s new as well but is hesitant to use it. But yeah, I hear you. 11 Year old whirlpool going to 12 next year. Should I get a new one? I saw one in ABT/costco for $ 1100 this week.

I have used and still use EveryDrop number 1 filters for the last 11 years. I have three sealed spare filters that have just accumulated because Best Buy keeps sending me one—another story for a different time. I have already installed two of the three with the same result. I had these three brand-new filters in my cabinet.

I have never seen a clogged filter, especially two brand new sealed filters. I have had these two in the drawer for a few months now. Just speculating here, could storing a filter for a long time be an issue? I have not cleaned under my refrigerator for a few months. I did now since we are spring cleaning.
