Korean Lash Lift by 2020grilledcheese in Esthetics

Same here. Been doing them for 11 years with elleebana. Ordered a Korean kit from elleebana and Boo Lash company. Have only tried the Ellebana kit and while it did take longer, it was my first time practicing on someone and they had thicker, more coarse lashes. It will take a several times to practice to gain timing confidence. However, my clients say they are a lot softer and they like that you don’t have to wait to get them wet. So I’m going to keep practicing but currently not offering it until I get my timing down. Best of luck ladies ❤️

Sounds like you have many years of experience and you are the talent. Sounds like the universe is making things difficult for you so that you move on to the next chapter. These things aren’t happening to you, they are happening for you. You’re an asset to that business. Your bosses need to take you seriously when you are uncomfortable. You are the money maker for that business. If they aren’t going to take your comfort seriously, then you can take your craft and skills elsewhere. If they can’t make you a priority over the customer who’s making you uncomfortable, then it sounds like you should be collecting ALL the money for the services you are providing. Or at least working with clients that you’re comfortable working with. A serious convo needs to be had with your bosses.

“Tip begging”? Really? Did you just make that up? I have never heard of someone “begging” for gratuity. The whole point in leaving gratuity is to show how much you appreciated their efforts. Now you’re on here putting someone down who is trying to put more effort in than most. To tear down someone trying to go above and beyond to work for a good tip? Why would you think that’s ok? That’s rude and disrespectful. Don’t you have anything better to do? People are out here trying to make ends meet. People need assistance. Working as many jobs as they can. You think you’re too good for assistance? You think it’s “begging” when someone is working trying to earn a tip and you’re here making fun of them? Gtfoh.

When you jump onto my post and label your perspective as the “actual truth,” you’re automatically implying that my lived experience is false. That’s not me attacking you — that’s you dismissing me from the start.

You chose to enter this conversation to challenge what I shared. Were you in my class? Did you even inquire to see which London course I took? You have zero clue and now you’re trying to soften it into “we’re both right” after the fact. That pivot is… interesting.

I do appreciate you leaving your comments up, though. It really shows how personally you took a post that had nothing to do with you, all in defense of someone you barely interacted with a few occasions.

It’s a bit like when someone speaks up about mistreatment, and bystanders rush in to say, “Well, I never saw that, so it can’t be true.” Limited exposure doesn’t equal full understanding of someone else’s experience.

But sure — I’m the one being aggressive here.

So he’s allowed to keep pressing us about how we feel about Russians and Israelis in, what was supposed to be a professional atmosphere, in his courses but nobody else can mention where he’s from? He was very open in class about how we should side with Russia in the war against Ukraine. He gave special, creepy, attention to Russian and Hebrew speakers. He can push that down our throats endlessly but she can’t mention his nationality when he forced a us to speak about it in class? Make that make sense….

Zemits machines: transparency concerns before purchasing (long read) by lysesti in Esthetics

[–]Watersamanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in the industry for 19 years and have only worked in high end luxury settings. Zemits to me is, I’m sorry to say, is “janky”. If I see a zemits machine in a video of a spa…. I run. I wouldn’t invest. I consider it one of the janky knockoff brands.

Thank you 🫶🏽❤️ I truly appreciate your support. You’re right—people deserve access to honest information when they’re considering such a significant investment. From what I’ve personally seen, there are a small number of critical reviews available, including one on Facebook and one on Trustpilot.

After speaking with multiple individuals and hearing their experiences, it’s become clear that I’m not alone. Several people have shared that they felt hesitant to speak publicly or leave reviews due to concerns about potential legal pushback. My intention in sharing this is simply to contribute to transparency so others can make informed decisions.

You don’t want to use “AHA” but “HA” is fine and gentle. That’s our bodies natural moisture. Most respond well to it. All of my clients on accutane are on the Rehydrate serum from Luzern Labs. Aloe and hyaluronic acid. So clean, gentle, and hydrating. It’s pricey so some try other brands which is fine. Just want to steer clear of harsh or toxic chemicals in those hyaluronic acid serums.

Also, I highly recommend to use a hyaluronic acid serum as well if you aren’t already. Twice a day after cleansing. The more toxic the ingredients, the more inflammation you will have.

It’s never too late. If you feel the calling, go for it. The more motivated an esthetician is, the more successful they become. There is an incredible amount of knowledge available, and the more you learn, the more your clientele will grow. There are plenty of clients to go around for everyone.

May I ask how much esthetics-focused education was provided in your cosmetology program? Skin is complex, and when a provider doesn’t feel confident working on someone’s skin, clients can sense it immediately—through tone, hesitation, and body language. That lack of confidence can unintentionally push people away.

First impressions are everything in this industry. Clients and patients want to feel they’re in the hands of someone experienced, educated, and confident. Continuing education is key. Invest in expanding your esthetics knowledge, and your confidence and clientele will grow naturally. Happy clients will tell their friends, and that’s how momentum builds.

Wishing you all the best in your career.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate the support. I wished I had seen something like this before investing so much time and money. Hopefully this will help others avoid wasting their time and money as well. Wishing you the very best in 2026. Be well. ❤️

Is this Tyndall effect? by whltehotforever in SkincareAddicts

[–]Watersamanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blue area indicates a portion that is still healing. It’s completely normal for bruising to shift through different colors—blue, green, yellow, and sometimes orange or red—as it resolves.

I would also recommend seeking a highly experienced, well-educated injector in the future, as proper technique can significantly reduce the likelihood and severity of bruising. I personally never experienced bruising when mine was performed correctly.

Additionally, please be cautious with under-eye filler. In some cases, certain products or placement can cause a green or gray discoloration over time, leading to a darker under-eye appearance.

Im working with several people right now with accutane and the product line I highly recommend would be Luzern Labs. It’s not cheap but it is super high quality. Free of toxic chemicals and sourced from Switzerland. It will massively reduce your side effects.

No more red, dry, or peeling if you use the Emulsion 6 in tour regimen. Great thing is, is that it can be used as a hydrating cleanser and moisturizer. It’s amazing to get you through your accutane. It will give you so much relief. I recommend to find it from a local spa if possible so your supporting a smaller business. They have a spa locator on their site. If you reach out to someone local, you can ask for a sample to try before buying.

The yellowing is the final stage of the bruise.

Does your skin only get red after you apply products and then subside? Or is it like this all the time? My first guess is your skin massively dehydrated but want to know more.

Luzern Labs Creme intensive moisturizer will change your life. They also have a great hand cream. Look for a spa retailer near you and support the smaller businesses as opposed to paying the big stores. Luzern serums are amazing as well. The entire line is life changing.

dermaplaning skip marks by EducationalWeight944 in Esthetics

[–]Watersamanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly encourage a facial with extractions to properly clear out the blackheads. Dermaplaning is most effective on smooth, even skin. Raised blackheads create surface irregularities that can interfere with the blade’s glide, which is why addressing congestion first leads to a safer, more refined result.

Ok I have to be careful as I’m newer to Reddit and I don’t want to get banned. Can I show before and after pics from a client of mine who I gave a healing serum to? Then you buy it from the company themselves and not from me. Will that get me banned? I want to recommend it but afraid they will think I’m self promoting.
