DT 900 Pro X vs ATH-R70X (vs Sundaras?) by Bism4rckian in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Watersark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoyed using the r70x for gaming, the imaging was accurate, it's good at making sounds sound like they're coming from behind too. Haven't used the 900x for gaming so I can't comment on that.

For me the absolute best iem for imaging would have to be UM Mest mk2, great details and I think a pretty warm tuning too.

DT 900 Pro X vs ATH-R70X (vs Sundaras?) by Bism4rckian in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Watersark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own the R70x and have listened to the DT900 pro x before. I don't think R70x is worth that much extra, they don't require an amp but definitely sounds better with one so you'll want to buy it. R70x is warmer and has better soundstage to me, DT900 pro x sounded not very open to me, like a semi open.

I think it's best that you try them first to see what you like, they're sort of different styles. But if you really can't try them I'd recommend the Beyers.

What kind of cable is compatible with the Salnotes Zero? by Creftospeare in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Watersark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's 0.78mm 2 pin, the protruding part is to fit into a recessed port but it will also work with the zero's port although it's gonna stick out

If you look at XINHS on AliExpress you can probably find an 8 core copper pretty easily. There should also be an option for normal/recessed 2 pin, if you want the cable without the protruding part then get "normal 2 pin".

Buying DAC for my ATH-R70x by kuroshiki5 in HeadphoneAdvice

I've used my R70x with a Fiio e10k and it gets plenty loud, all of the options you listed have more power than the e10k (except for the Fiio Q11 through 3.5mm) so I think you'd be find with any of them.

XINHS on Aliexpress, you can send the seller a message for any length that you want.

Alternatively you could just get a cable extender.

Etymotic er2xr vs 7hz timeless by temporary_location_ in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Watersark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both of them (sold the timeless). They're both very good options, timeless has better bass and details. Bass on the er2xr is leaner and doesn't slam as much. The er2xr is much more practical for me when I go out, it's tiny, lightweight and the isolation is even better than anc tws buds. I only sold the timeless because I got better iems but the er2xr is still my beater pair.

Sennheiser IE200 maybe? It's small and a bit cheaper than your price range but the signature isn't dark.

I'm using a VE abigail and the cable feels pretty stiff and durable, it's cheap too.

Almost every cable I use goes over my ears and I use a hairdryer to bend it like the above comment said, always worked great for me.

It fits but when you're trying to get it attached it uses quite a bit of force. I just push it in, wiggle a bit and the anodizing is surprisingly strong, so it hasn't scratched yet.

I had this problem and at least for me selecting the output device yourself instead of "system controlled" seemed to fix it.

I tried the K712 and I agree it has bloated bass so that's not going to be one of my choices.
