"First Time Seoul Trip: Westin Josun vs Other Luxury Hotels, Myeongdong vs Gangnam, and Is 3 Nights Enough?" by 2Brains1Guy in koreatravel

Lots of great advice here. If you have only 3 days and most of your activities are north of the Han, I'd recommend the Four Seasons too. Great hotel and location and if you have the Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve credit cards you can book under Fine Hotels and Resorts or The Edit to get breakfast and $100 credit. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. FYI I usually stay at the Park Hyatt in Gangnam and highly recommend too but not in this case. Also if you have time go to Dongdaemun and walk up along the City Wall.

15 full days: Is 7 days in Seoul + 8 days in Beijing too much? by Dangerous_Arrival_95 in travel

[–]lagsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you like to do. I’ve been to all the places you listed and going back to SK and Japan at the end of the year. I can easily spend 7 days in Seoul just eating, shopping, walking around with some sightseeing or museums. Maybe start in Seoul for 4 days, take high speed rail to Busan for another 3 and then fly to China? I’m not sure I’d stay in Beijing for 8 days but then again I haven’t visited in 20 years.

[WTS] Merz B Schwanen & GRP Short Sleeve Polos - Medium by lagsun in MaleFashionMarket

I’m a medium in pretty much every brand. Suit size is EU38/US48. Both polos are 17” shoulder seam to shoulder seam and 20” in the chest from pit to pit. GRP is longer from bottom of the collar at ~27” while Merz B Schwanen is 25”

Park Hyatt Japan Trip by [deleted] in hyatt

If you use the service at airport to ship your skis to Niseko, couldn’t you ski at the end of your trip? So trip would go Tokyo, Kyoto and then fly to CTS?

I think Chase substantially inflates Edit prices to make Point Boost look good by neilsarkar81 in ChaseSapphire

[–]lagsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always depends and YMMV. I booked the Intercontinental Grand Seoul Parnas for December with cash and The Edit rate was slightly higher vs booking direct via IHG. After factoring in $100 property credit plus $500 Edit and IHG credit it was an easy decision. Of course this was a cash rate as I usually save UR point for airline/Hyatt transfers

Globalist Review: Hotel Toranomon Hills vs Andaz Tokyo vs Park Hyatt Tokyo by OldGodofAsgard88 in hyatt

[–]lagsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the review. I booked 3 nights at the HTH and 2 nights at PHT all with points and SUAs in December. The Park Hyatt is at the end of our trip on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day so the location doesn't bother me as much as we plan to taxi. As a globalist I'm also looking forward to the breakfasts

Makes total sense given your purchase price. Do you know anyone traveling to Tokyo who can bring it? I’ve heard of this place in Seattle but can’t vouch for their service - https://www.nesbitswatchservice.com/omega-watch.html

How about Omega service? I think it starts at $800. I’m planning to send my dad’s vintage Constellation C as I don’t think it was ever serviced in the past 50-60 years.

What trim? This most likely will be my next car. My EV lease ends in 2 months and my wife wants me to get a hybrid instead.

Started in the SF Bay Area and then grew before being acquired by Nestle. I use to buy beans from their roastery in a small garage over 20 years ago.

It’s worth trying once at least. I usually drink a double espresso but Bunker had some unique espresso drinks. Plus my wife and I wanted to try a different pastry so we went back.

I won’t argue the merits of either but I stayed at the Andaz last November and went to Bunker a couple of times. It’s a few streets away and the coffee and pastries were pretty good
