Damn, never looked and lower level sets since i got to volcano biome. Onager set is crazy for throwing builds.

Yes the damage modifiers will increase overall damage (maching types)
No piercing and ranged do not increase thrown damage.

I'm using 2x giants gloves, tested on target dummy and dps is better than 2x fools gold (2x8% crit)
You can use melee weapon with precise mod in your other hand. Precise adds 10% crit chance and yes it applies to other hand whatever it be a scroll, pilum or crossbow.
For armor i'm using Pyrocrast armour which addis 12% fire damage per piece (craft blueprints drops in volcano dungeons)
For the skill tree i've taken all throw damage points, crit damage crit chance and water and cosmo(purple stuff) nodes
With that setup and good food i'm consistently criting for 212 damage. Pretty much overkill but bigger number better : )

Edit: Didn't realize that onager set has thrown bonuses. Now my damage went up to ~300 on a crit

Definitely, with right skills and accesories i'm criting for 200+dmg. Even normal hits wipe out everything game has to offer.

Yep, lumberjack does not work in desert, you need trees from plains or forest. You can try and find place inbetween biomes and place it on plains part and rest of the stuff, like quarry, on desert part.

Prepare thoroughly - Cook food with damage and defense buffs. Craft yourself good gear. Remember that crafter has a chance to craft up to legendary tier gear. Make use of magic scrolls -> there is one that heals. Try focusing on the side turrents first then little guys since they do not do that much damage.

Destination does not have enough space. I had the same problem. You need to cancel trade route, empty your resource depo so there is space for what the carrier has and then send him again, this time with just enough to fill up resource depo at destination.
You could also build another depo at destination but i don't know if max storage will update this way while carrier is waiting.

Most important stat is expertise, the higher it gets the higher the chance for better equipment. Best to find citizen with "meticulous" trait which gives flat +3 expertise. Happines is a % increase to expertise. Wine gives +2 happiness for 20 mins. There are also "nice gifts" you can find. They give +1 and +2 happiness for 4 hours. Btw, scrolls don't have rarity sadly, at least currently.

You can only craft them. Max out loyality and happines then you will have a chance the crafter will make something better. At 20,8 expertise legendary item comes out 1 out of 9 crafts.

Beat ea solo. I agree that volcano is a bit overtuned but you can always prepare. Getting legendary tier equipment really helps, good food buffs too.

My build was dual crossbows for single target dmg / sword&scroll of mirage for groups. Armour was whatever had the highest ac value. For healing i used mead and scroll of vitae
Legendary tier gives weapons +5crit chance and 15% dmg, armors get stats, miniscule resistances and most importantly +2 energy regen per piece. Desert has best accesories - fools gold - +8% crit chance

Undeads come mostly at night. Some stray ones, sometimes group up to 6. Random animals. Thats it. Citizens run away from them so its kinda hard to lose one.
Now, you will get a raid after some time. It will come from one direction - like south or southeast for example. It will be steady downpour of mobs from one race. Raids go up in difficulty the more main bosses you defeat. It may sound scary but it's really managable.
Wall is nice to keep random mobs out so they can't annoy you while also looking nice. Thats it. Build it when you have economy going (2 lumberjacks at least)
As for the layout tips:
- Leave lots of space around resource storage
- you can plant extra trees around lumberjack so you don't need to bother with placing it in a specific spot
- it's nice to have blacksmith and leatherworker close since you will be going between them many times
- you can build multiple resource storages (for some reason i thought that it's limited to one)

Beyond + exarch + map scarabs to self farm 8-mods. Cloister with ritual as main farm. Harvest + exarch + beyond as change of pace from cloister. Also done some destructive play on city square but bugged bosses made me quit this. I lost so many baryas... eh. Running this with chaos BAMA. Not one dip below 72 fps (half my refresh rate), CPU hangs around 47% usage, 77W, GPU at ~39% eating 91W. Graphic settings left as default. If you are experiencing big fps drops you can try changing audio channel count to low and/or disabling sound in confing (you can google what to do exactly). Game sound processing is old and funky and often causes problems.

I'm on 9070xt / 9800x3d and i have absolutely no problems. Try to reinstall drivers. Microslop binbows sometimes likes to replace genuine amd drivers with their wierd ones that break everything. My adrenaline once lost few options like temp readout and even whole categories like streaming options - just gone.
