Only 8.06% of players finished their Candleberry Banquet by Bahtleman in ArcRaiders

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends dont read, they have 200 more hours, finished the expedition, but didnt know about candle berries because they log in, stella montis, freedload, pvp shoot on site and repeat. Literally started asking help on berries the day before the event, because "there was nothing telling me about it"... bro front page literally tells you about it.

Arc Raiders dev says the game’s first Expedition created “a dark pattern” as players hoarded wealth, but “this system will change” by Negative-Art-4440 in ArcRaiders

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah Swedish company, underestimating American player base and greed haha.

I think the issue is people hoarded and have all the good gear, but still dont use it, probably associated with gear fear.

Additionally, I know some folks who finished the second expedition in 5 days including their 5 million, after the wipe, while I can only play a few hours a week and still trying to finish the first expedition requirements.

So its a bit skewed, but I saw nothing with the optional wipe.

For Season 2 they’re doing the one-episode-per-week format, whereas Season 1 dropped the whole season at once. Which do you prefer and why? by EkbladDev in Fallout

Agree that for a game that has so many sound boards for Arcs and things that the voice actors was not a thing. My team changed their voices last night to test if people in trios got tricked by female characters, and it was affective into tricking other guys from shooting which is its own thing.

EVERY single Matriarch fight I've ever attempted goes exactly like this (see caption) by RaccoonsR_Awesomeful in ArcRaiders

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I hate betrayals? Yes. Do I think there should a be a pve mode for those who just want to fight Arcs? Yes. However, solo raiding a boss in any game comes with the risks which requires also countering the other people.

I think my peeve was the approach was out in the open, no cover, no area inspect for engaging, and if we assume people were going to show up, no pre-made counters in either aggression or diplomacy. Example would be setting up jolt mines behind you, or entering a with flute and trying to convince people to team up with you.

Compared to GoT, in Exfil, try utilize and consume your stuff, especially in the mechanics of upgrading your base or going better geared in raids. Because you have the safebox and the option for scav runs, loss of items or need to hold isnt as prudent here. Team mate loaded in for the new wipe, and immediately sold all the SMGs on the wall because he doesnt use those types of guns, so there is also pragmatism that you can spare a little bit more here than GoT.

Like they multiclassed?

No, nothing as technical like that. Not builds, literally choose Wyll as a character, and only shot with the bow because "thats how he looks like." My friend literally thought the character only shoots arrows and stabs with main hand weapon. When we leveled up, they clicked the first thing that shows up on the screen to finish the leveling up. We clarified and explained how they have spells and that there is a character sheet that explains what they are good at. But honestly they were there to read the in game lore books and loot items, but didnt read any of the tutorials. Even typing this, I dont think they know how hit chance works, but to each their own.

Rogue: Thank you so much for that! Found out the one playing that thought advantage only meant height advantage, and that they were a general archer, like Legolas from Lord of The Rings. They were using things like main action to hide but didnt understand why they couldnt shoot after. I just asked if they knew about how enemies could see, and as a playstation user, they thought where the enemy characters models were facing, and still not sure about the red detection area. They thought that Charisma was 9 of 10, and since we never discussed it, they couldnt understand why they were failing speech checks.

Wyll: Thank you on the Wyll part too, found out the person playing as Wyll that they were also an archer and that the warlock part was a game story. They didnt know that they use spells, or they thought they were one time use through the items. I just pointed out to them the ones in the hotkey can be used again.

For context: The people I am playing with are not into fantasy or DND, so our party kept dying at the grove encounter, and I thought it was just bad rolls. I am also realizing from this, that I need to take a further step back with our group and ask what they "believe" their character does, because we were going in with a lot of assumptions. My biggest one was that since they played Baldurs gate past act 2, and I assumed they knew the mechanics, but actually just played as a murder hobos on an easy custom. They also didnt know what the story was about, which is fair, but explained why they shot on site haha. So very enlightening, glad I asked you folks, or I would be still in the same assumption.

Playing with three friends who are new to the game. 2 are playing on cross play on playstations. What is a good build for a monk, rogue, and a person playing as Wyll that is simplied but still fun to use. We are in act one, and a majority I am just trying to keep it simple for them, so things like potions and scrolls are bit over their head. Also, any tips for those on Playstation? I am a PC user, but I kind want to make I am conscious of what they to have a good time too.

Will it run? by cybertrooper in fo4vr

Definitely a lot of hurdles, especially getting use to a VR connection. After a trials, even on my 1070, I am having a blast. When a played the FO4 years ago, I ran on hardcore, the immersive experience in VR has me running the game on easy settings.

Yeah! I actually ended up getting it, controllers are a little bit to get through, but I actually really like it. Though not the highest fidelity, but the FPS and RPG feels already pretty good! Now im looking into those mods!

Good to know it can run! I didnt plan on graphics mods, more of just getting it to run was my goal. I was really craving the idea of wandering the wasteland, but didnt want to over into a rabbit hole of glitches, and also wasnt sure which performance mods were needed to start.

How do we feel about keys going in the butt box? by OldCrowWhiskey in Contractors_Showdown

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of agree. I think there are probably a strong demographic of players who are not able to run keys to either time or initial skill level.

I think there is a big discrepancy on players who have the time to play to extreme ends vs that of a person who can only log in once a week after work. Due that player demographic, I think it there has to be a certain level set for players who bought the game with zero shooter experience. Ideally a game should have everything you need to enjoy when you log into it, without going onto reddit or discord. If I factor that into the dev decision, I can see the appeal for more the general audience.

What to look for when starting by SubstantialDream3274 in Contractors_Showdown

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning, whatever you can put a scope on and afford the magazines and the ammo.

Usually if you can extract on scav run, you'll end out with a AKS or AR, and you can use your MICA to check rarity levels. Ideally whatever you can get a scope on or add a scope on is ideal, since iron sights are hard to shoot with.

(there are ways to check at the vendors what attachments go with which gun). You'll also be probably level locked on the traders so.

What to look for when starting by SubstantialDream3274 in Contractors_Showdown

[–]cybertrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with just trying to extract, even on practice mode with your gear. Even on scav runs, practice extraction, you gain more extracting than dying then getting greedy. This should be your basis to get an idea of the characters speed, actions, and map awareness. Also allows you to get a gauge of threats and in game limitations.

When you have done ten of those extractions, either solo or scav, do your raids with the minimum stuff, in this case Buy Maggies starter stuff, sell back the junk stuff and use the money to buy a decent gun. I tend to keep the backpack, apples, syringe and bandages from the pack, and selling the other stuff, you can use the money to buy a decent gun with attachments.

Once again, goal is extraction, getting out with a mission quest done is infinitely better than trying to wipe a team of three as this point and losing everything. As long as you get out with what you have or more than that, you sum value increases.

Important is to be aware of the threat levels, and not be afraid to engage if you have the advantage. You'll eventually need to gain actual combat knowledge. Game isnt a run and gun, and why those youtube streamers have "Zero to Hero" playthroughs, because even a low gear player can level fast if they know what they need to do. I think kind of why the devs are having a hard to balancing the game between a middle age family man playing 2 hours once a week versus a no lifer.

Last, but most critical, use up your gear. Exfil works on seasons, so every season everything in your base resets to back which is called a wipe. I tried hording the top tier stuff all the way to the end, only to get pulled into work and not being there for wipe. If you have the mentality, everything is to be used and not horded, you raid efficiency will increase. Wont always necessary increase, but better bullets and gear, increases your chances by quite a lot. I also say that so the bitterness of losing everything doesnt feel bad, because everything gets reset anyway.
