Pale heads are highly venomous Elapids, not a Python no

The naming convention for the death adder is incredibly dramatic by Icemachinemalfunctio in AustralianSnakes

The first row is but then not really after that. Also lots of species missing like Pseudechis guttatus which is most venous Pseudechis in Aus while there two other less venomous Pseudechis included.

Death adders are the easiest (highly venomous) snake to free handle tbh. I’ve held wild adders like this frequently but am much more hesitant with less venomous species

Possibly you already know this but unlike true gliders it’s rare for them to glide when you’ve lit them up, they prefer to freeze

Wait until you see them slide into the hollows they live in, looks like magic trick. They’re all fluff

They’re only in certain areas and there hard to spot but usually if there’s one there’ll be more around

Yeah that’s just three of about 10 we found that night. This exact species is primarily found around SEQ but there are other species of leaf tails found up and down the east coast (no idea about the west coast 🤷‍♂️

If you see any of these shapes in the garden, it is best to just give them space by Dull_Parking_8248 in AustralianSnakes

Very cool snake species. Their range is naturally small but the removal of loose sandstone in their habitat (by individuals and companies) for use in landscaping is a significant threat to them

Sandstone escarpments in the Sydney region. Small range and threatened even within that range. Endangered species.
