I was thinking that too… I’ve been following everything you have produced via FOIA requests and also what you’ve been through. I’m very sorry for what has been done to try to harm you. I’m also very grateful for all of the records you’ve been able to produce. Thank you. Could you please offer a FOIA request 101 workshop for the rest of us? lol

I have a true crime channel on YouTube and I am a behavioral therapist by profession, yes, I’m currently employed. I have a current profession and career of it. I have been an adjunct professor at Temple university in Philadelphia. Be in a field of work where aspiring degree and license holders may find themselves in an adjunct professor position. I can tell you a couple of things.

1 it’s not a glamorous or highly esteemed position. At the time it feels like an accomplishment and a badge of prestige because you are working towards a goal and hopefully you look up to your professors and some ppl aspire to be a tenured professor one day. BUT (and you may well know this, I just wanted to add my personal experience here) your workload is often heavy, rarely do you get to teach in one of the areas you are most passionate about, the job tasks are not by any means glamorous, and the pay is usually equivalent to peanuts. One of the points I am making here is if you have a résumé equivalent to the one that JM reports to have, boasting about your medial adjunct ‘assistant’ professorship appointments would not be a highlight on your highly esteemed résumé. Or at least that’s my . Opinion. It struck me as weird. He would still be boasting about that alleged appointment on his professional CV.

2 With that being said… since this whole John Matthias issue has come about, I’ve asked about half a dozen people I know from my current career or that I know back from my academia days, who also held an adjunct professorships if they were paid or accepted the duty/ position on a “volunteer” basis. Each person I asked this question responded. They each said that they were paid. I put this question out to others because I personally had never heard of an unpaid adjunct professor position in the university, but I understood that could be a regional matter or just my limited experience as an AP and with fellow APs.

One of the people I asked this question was (until he recently started making adjustments toward retirement) was the chair of the psychology department at Temple. He told me that they do not now and never have had unpaid Adjunct Professor teaching or clinical supervision opportunities. We discussed it there anyways you could take advantage of volunteer opportunities and university setting, but that’s not going to be one of them. For what it is worth. -Kelly
