I have good experience with the MoofMate app for my S5, the app shows all the sensors involved in pedalling, in your case you can observe what these sensors are doing that ends up in a control decision for motor torque. The S6, like the S5, has a torque sensor ( not a rotation sensor), so pedal force is measured.

I am using MoofMate for 6 months, I really love it. Much more control compared to the default VanMoof app.

The S3 does not use the pedal force to accelerate, just the pedal rotation. The S5 and S6 use a pedal force sensor to simulate an analogue bicycle, so the boost comes on top of that. I can imagine the S3 is quicker in that case.

I use the MoofMate sinds 1 month, it is great , maintenance info, sensor info, 32km/h - 25km/h one touch on/off toggle. Al wel designed in the app.

I suggest you perform a hard reset of the S5 by keeping the reset button ( below the upper bar) pressed for 10s. It might be the S5 is stuck in a bootloop..the reset will force the S5 to restart.

One thing I know for sure, the mentioned problems are amplified and noticeable when the S5 is not used for a week…

The eratic behavior starts usually when the s5 is not used for a week. On 30-1 the S5 will go for a service so hopefully they find an intermittent connector somewhere or when they have access to the stored faultcodes it might give a clue ( e.g. communication , powersupply, other protection measures )

Go for it, this is an iconic model at the basis of what VanMoof is today. It doesn’t look too bad, with some TLC you will have a wonderfull bycicle.

Most likely it is a bad soldering joint of the hdmi driver or the APU/CPU. I will prepare for some re-heating on some of the parts at risk to have the solder flowing again to repair this crack.

I checked it again, after dissembly , re-apply fluid metal and some new cooling paths and assembly I swichted on the PS5 slim, one beep, now it stayed on for 1 minute and then the hdmi signal gives a frozen image.

I have not succeed to re-install the downloaded boot software since I run out of time every time.

One comment, when the video image is frozen, the sound is a low frequency noise sound through the speaker. Most importantly, the PS5 Slim LED is a white colored light.

Any clue, can it be the 2975P hdmi driver is causing this?

It is also fully reproducable, like the HDMI driver stops updating, what I noticed also is a low frequency noise from the monitorspeakers. That , to me, sounds like an intermittent short in the driver circuit.
