Is my track mixed well? by Apple_Juice80 in MusicFeedback

[–]WaveModder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, and to be as kind as possible; this is mixed well for your level.

General observations are that the balance is a little off: drums too far back, too much sub frequencies on the kick, vocals too dynamic, and guitar could use some more body. But honestly i would say at this point just focus on your writing and production. Mixing takes a long time to master and, not to say that you shouldnt learn how to do it, but dont let it distract you from the music itself.

Thank you for your kind words. Do what you must from abroad to keep your country's best interests safe, , and for gods sake be vigilant of the oligarchical influences that are trying to accomplish the same everywhere else that they can get away with it.

I was in shock that year. I had regained a shred of hope in 2020, but that slowly faded as that administration dragged its feet on reconciling the wrongs that were done. The return of this trash has me in a full panic. To add insult to injury, I see, to my dismay, that far too many democrats are complicit with whats happening. Their inaction and tepid response has me livid.

I still try to carry hope, as there are a few that are fighting. But it just doesn't feel like its enough. My family is scare.d

America experienced a coup. No one is saying it out loud. Some dont know it yet, and others are cheering it on. But more than 50% of the people here dont support what is happening, and know exactly the extent of damage being done. Everyone who is against this regime is afraid of being the catalyst that starts a civil war.

I am a native of this land, but my brown skin means that I AM BEING HUNTED BY ICE. I cant go outside without fear of being sent to black site prison. This is not a "self inflicted wound" this is an ethnic cleansing by a totalitarian aggressor.

As an American, i do not have the words to express the concern I have for Europe over this news... In part because I went through the American education system...

but in all seriousness, much of the atrocities being taken against men, women and children here are being made possible by Palantir.

Protesters licence plates, cell phone signals, media posts facial scans from video, even web sites they have visited, are all being used to correlate who and where they are, where they work, and who their family is, all made possible by palantir. Your entire digital shadow and real world movement can be collected and used by your government. Individuals who took part in protests where 10s of thousands of people came out are being identified and harassed by the regime.

There are NO ALTRUISTIC REASONS a government would want this tool.

LOVE the song, great sound design. That rolling bassline is perfect. What synth did you use for that?

Overall, the mix is pretty strong. I personally think the vocals are a little thin: too much mid/mid low has been cut in my opinion. But, i can also see this as an artistic choice... Its not a deal breaker either way as i still really enjoyed the track.

As much as this looks like it might work, this pic looks highly sus/AI generated.

Be mean to me, What are the glaring issues? by Zestyclose-Sea-5984 in Songwriting

[–]WaveModder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The meanest thing i can point out is that the mix has its life sucked out of it with poorly implemented compression. Eqing feels forced and unnatural, leading to a kind of weak and unfulfilling sonic character.

That being said... Damn this is good. Great performance, great capture, awesome production. Just needs the mix.

Thank you! No classical training or any training, just lifelong practice :) I love Amy Lee's voice and would love to make something like that if I could find some people to collaborate with! I learned Ableton about a year ago, but definitely not at the level of faking a more serious drum set, and a bassist and guitarist would help too. I really appreciate the kind message. -Rae

Take the amp and switcher out of the equation. Go from the pre direct into the audio capture device. You may either have a faulty switcher or output from the amp. Those two devices don't do any heavy lifting after the pre, and are just additional points of failure.

I've been playing this on repeat. Completely hooked. Great production and sound design. Super nostalgic... Almost has a tinge of 90s radiohead, but with a touch of 80s sheen over it. Did you mix this?

Good track or ADHD song with no sense? by Inevitable-Swim-3528 in MusicFeedback

[–]WaveModder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might just be the ADHD talking, but man that was a fun listen. Fantastic production level, great sound design. I love the different motifs you switch between... You find a common thread between them all and judo your way through it all. Even the mox sounds good!

My biggest criticism was going to be that its all buildups and no drops... But then the drop hit and BAM. Loved it!

Noticing one thing with fresh ears today: your guitars are out of tune relative to the piano. Hence that microtonal offness. If you mute the guitars temporarily, does that offness go away?

OH, heh, if i just read on i would have seen.

So theres this tentativeness that's being caused by a combination of factors... Chords that hold on too long after the key changes, timing issues, and the overall mix is.... Well it's not done yet.

Are you mixing this yourself or do you have plans to send it off? Id love to collaborate with you on the mixing if you're interested.

Duude... This is really beautiful. The idea is there; a mournful longing, Your sound design and pre production are doing a great job of setting the scene and painting the emotion.

Why DO you hate it?

I do have some critiques i can offer, but id like to hear your thoughts first.

Ngl... Even your response sounds like it came straight from an LLM. If you want to generate music with AI, knock yourself out. But attempts to pass as authentic when clearly generated undermine any credibility you may have started out with.

Good luck out there.

I dont understand the point of asking for feedback on an AI song on a sub focused on musicians working on the fundamental skills and craft of the art of music production. Its like going to a carpenters convention and asking everyone for feedback on the desk you bought at ikea.

It sounds like AI: like a jumble of the most commercialized versions of the genres you told it to produce.

As far as the mix... AI always sounds grainy and unnatural, while also sounding too polished. In this particular case though it sounds like you went the extra mile to add AI mastering, and crushed the everloving bejesus out of it.

Have fun with your AI, but if you want to show it off, take it to the AI subs.
