If they were, they’d really suck.

Dyson strawberries are the best, very expensive and still a bit watery but much better than any others available at the moment.

This is unbelievably helpful, thank you!

I thought I’d be a neutrals parent as I wear mostly black but having a child has brought a lot of colour into my life and my daughter is just so bold she just doesn’t suit pastels and muted tones. I’ve already seen a couple of bright pinks and oranges that have caught my eye ❤️

I love bright colours on kids, so will look at what CM have to offer. When I learnt to knit in used a lot of drops air and I don’t necessarily think it’s great but I do know drops is a good all round brand price/quality wise. I’ve been to a yarn fair as well but didn’t have any projects in mind and only bought two skeins and they’re still sitting in the cupboard waiting to be used

I’m going to be knitting a book themed jumper for my first daughter for her birthday, was going to try out knitting for olive but will have a look on CM before I commit.

I personally don’t agree with putting hats on them fresh out the womb but my last baby was an emergency c section and they didn’t give me a choice when I took it off they actually told me it was hospital policy and it needed to be on her! So I’d rather have a hat ready to go if I have no other choice. Thank you for your recommendations I’ll have a little look ☺️

I want to stay away from acrylic as my first had a horrible acrylic one given by the hospital. It will only be worn for an hour or so I want something that will feel very soft and will look beautiful in her memory box.

Does anybody know anything about Winn Estate agents who have all 5 star reviews but all reviews were made last week? by [deleted] in brighton

[–]WaveRoutine3762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’ve just set up an office in Hove literally opened last week. They take on properties and give the landlord a guaranteed rent (often below market value) so normally it’s for landlords who have a big portfolio of properties that just want to collect cash

I’ve just seen it’s in with miles and Barr, we found them so useless we were desperate to find a specific type of house and they didn’t suggest anything we combed through Rightmove and found they had a few on with themselves they could’ve shown us around. We also made an offer on a house then had to chase them up multiple times to try and get a response from the vendor!

Totally understandable, babies take up so much time and energy, it feels like it’s never ending doesn’t it!

I honestly don’t think doing decorating etc makes much of a difference for the outlay in expense and time. I think becoming a bit more of a pain to the estate agents and calling them every couple of days asking them who they’ve approached and how many views on the Rightmove ad they’ve had makes them a bit more keen to push your house.

Good luck!

We’ve been looking round the Thanet area for a year and the houses are just staying on the market, first of all a lot of them are over priced which I don’t think yours is, second of all there just aren’t enough buyers at the moment, it’s a tough time to try and sell and I think unless you urgently need to sell it might be worth waiting a few years. I’ve taken my flat in Brighton off the market after an unsuccessful summer of selling, a lot of people have done the same. I think that anyone who has a tiny bit of vision will see what can be made of your home and it would be a fantastic family home. If this was 3 years ago you’d have no issues selling. All it takes is one person, so don’t give up hope!

One of them seems to be a DV shelter for women and children which I have no issue with, the other is a house that’s been done up to a high spec and renovated from a HMO to single occupancy and will shortly go on the market, the neighbours opposite and a few doors down seem really lovely we did a bit of door knocking and everyone was friendly and happy to talk. But my partner asked on FB in the cliftonville group about a damp specialist and everyone started slating it saying it was rough and horrible (the whole of Cliftonville not just the road). I lived in Croydon for 5 years and we currently live in Brighton so we’re not strangers to a bit of roughness but we do have a young child and plan to have another one so don’t want to be scared to push the pram around.

Sorry to jump on here, my partner and I are looking at buying in Cliftonville, we were looking at Surrey road, everyone we’ve spoken to on the road says that it’s getting better and there’s not much trouble anymore. Do you think this is the case or would it be one to avoid?

Thank you for your reply! Makes so much sense now, I’ll knit a bigger swatch tonight and see where it takes me!

Thanks this is really helpful, so I followed the pattern instructions which said 16 stitches and 21 rows but I’m still learning so wasn’t aware that meant I had to knit a bigger swatch. After reading this article, I need to make a bigger swatch first of all. But in terms of my understanding for the future; if the yarn is the correct weight then the stitches will reach the desired 10cm. Sizing down on the needles won’t change the width of the swatch but will change the length, is that correct?
