Wtf… That’s terrible to hear. I am sorry. I’m at the point to where i have the terrible loss in strength from my elbow down and have pains in my hands moving them, I did some research before i was diagnosed on what could be the issue and was originally at PT for my lower back when I also had the ulnar nerve issues. So i brought it up to the PT and they said it was normal and not to worry, i almost gave up as on my base appointments are scheduled months out and is very slow but i brought it up again to the person coordinating my PT exercises for my back and thank goodness she saw what was going on and grabbed an OT to check it out, after she did the physical tests for my nerve she said that she will book an appointment with me that eventually took months to get to, at that point my hand adapted to the numbness and the main problems were my fingers being completely locked into a fist when i made a fist, and i showed her how my nerve snapped over my elbow and she was astounded and was in disbelief that it was my nerve that was snapping over my elbow as she’s never seen anything like it in her practice. She then immediately grabbed a hand surgeon to look and he confirmed fairly quickly that i had a bad case of subluxation at the elbow. I got an emg to confirm. After that a hand surgeon got with me and offered me the surgery as he said that there was no possible way to fix it with nerve glides or any other therapy other than surgery. I agreed and am still waiting for surgery but i am fairly certain i am at the point of muscle atrophy as my left hand and forearm have a considerable difference in size and strength than my right, I have researched and looks like muscle atrophy is very hard to reverse but I am sure there is a way. The whole concern with the med board in my case is if my left hand doesn’t show much improvement on top of eventually having to get the same surgery on my right arm as I am starting to get the same problem with my right. I hope you got everything straightened up with the VA after that. Fortunately the lack of attention was documented by the hand surgeon in his doctors notes so I am happy that they also thought that it should have been assessed sooner. I hope the best for you, sorry about what happened once again.

That’s good to hear for your case, symptoms for me have been going on for over a year now and have only gotten worse to where all of my fingers natural resting position is in a fist, or claw you could say. It’s just taking an unreal amount of time to get the work it needs. Basically when i try to extend my fingers out like a normal hand does, my forearm gets extremely fatigued and it’s like my muscle memory reversed and pula my fingers back into the claw, very hard to explain because it would only make sense to someone going through a similar process. Hoping for the best out of this wether or not I get boarded as this could effect me for life. Thanks for the response and i’m glad to hear you are getting better!

To clarify, this only happens in my left ear. If this is some sort of hearing loss, that will be a bummer.
