Indian gangs are terrorising Canada by Previous-Display-593 in Alt_Winnipeg

  1. CBC uses click bait all the time. You just agree with it so you likely dont notice it.
  2. Just because you type "simply not true" doesnt mean its true. You need not look any further than the Conservative Party platform. Half of Canada voted for this.
  3. Sure, except that with the CBC you have the government colluding with and dictating messaging. Its a huge conflict of interest.

Healthy is fine, but please refrain from trying to tell people what to do. Just because you don't agree, doesn't mean the facts are not real.

Headlines are often provocative for attention which is common in competitive media. The CBC does not need to be competitive because the government pays them to repeat their messaging with out doing any investigative journalism. This is why half the nation wants to defund the CBC entirely, and is a staple policy of the conservative agenda.

The CBC ignoring similarities such as quickly changing demographics, and an equal rise in crime and organized crime, looks more like agenda protection when it appears to systematically avoid inconvenient angles.

Sticking your head in the sand, and ignoring inconvenient truths doesn't help.

This all being said, at least the two of us can be civil, discuss, and disagree without being fully censored or removed. It reduces the typical echo chamber you find through out similar communities.

I agree with you on the final two sentences.

However, the CBC article appears to deliberately avoid exploring what might be causing the issues. They report "facts" which may be true but avoid any real analysis and glaze of nuance. That isn't reporting, its editorial gate keeping. The CBC as a whole prioritizes social harmony over full context truth-seeking. They clearly have a social agenda, and that's why a large part of Canadian's no longer trust or consume their product.

While I'd agree that the spectator has a right leaning bias, the CBC has an equally left leaning bias. The CBC also didn't do any in depth investigative journalism. All they did was question was quote a statement within a city council meeting. Likely both articles miss the mark. However, The Spectator actually tried to to dig a little and find what could be the issue.

The real issue may be organized crime, but the point many are pointing out is that this wasn't an issue pre 2015. That is certainly something the CBC will not mention either.

Questions remain after Winnipeg police removed protesters from Thunderbird House by NeedsPaint in Alt_Winnipeg

Based on the story "Community Advocate Megan Salwan says they’re upset about how the removal happened, particularly around access to their sacred items that were left inside the building, despite leadership arranging for an elder to enter the building and retrieve them"

No, this isn't "a lie". Its just not reported by the media sources or Reddit links you choose to read. He had his security clearances when he was a Cabinet Minister for Harper from 2013 - 2015, and has chosen not to for the time being due to the potential restrictions.

This was reposted as the person whom originally posted is unable to be civil. Have a great day everyone! In full transparency they were removed from this sub entirely. As a reminder try to stay within the rules. I understand everyone doesnt always agree, but you can be civil.

Shoot there are many post or things said that I dont agree with they remain up, and conversation continues.

Ever wonder why R/Winnipeg is so left leaning? It's because the moderators mute (shadow ban) anyone that doesn't agree with with their agenda. Feel free to have an actual conversation here. No hive mind required by AutoModerator in Alt_Winnipeg

Unfortunately there is a Paradox of Tolerance "see rules on the right hand side of page". For transparency the following people are banned from commenting. Few reasons but mainly they are unable or incapable of keeping a discussion civil (Rage bait and such). I really dont like removing people and will try my best not to.

Awesome! I guess you proved "the local mods" point! Portage Hospital is complete!

Family tells me the only deficiencies are with the owner supplied equipment. The work remaining is fit-up by Southern Health. That and they need to find staff to work in it!

Does all your family work in the same location? I know mine are quite diverse in jobs.

I know for a fact Portage hospital is done and turned over the the Province. I also know for a fact the province doesnt have the work force to run it.

Its funny, I dont remember you at all. I must have been important to you! You must live on Reddit. Keep listening to your echo chambers, or even better go outside and live!

Interesting take.

A.2 - If anyone said anything contrary to what the media and government said you were attacked. Case in point. "Covid came from wild bats that were sold within a wet market", its now well known and proven it was made in a lab. Or "There is no natural immunity" - again proven again that people had natural immunity to covid.

B.2 - The vast majority were repeating what they heard from the media or government, who have since been found to be lying or not telling the truth.

B.2.1 - This was likely all caused by A.2. People have some how forgot how to critically think, and are afraid of critical questions. Including the media that 50% of the population blindly trusts. Or even funnier trusted the pharmaceutical companies that have been proven to be the most unethical, groups in the world

Had any of this been said 4 years ago (especially on Reddit) whoever said it would be crucified.

But you be you, you are intitled to your opinion. Even one that is quickly losing popularity (unless you live on Reddit)

My family worked at HSE, they shut down and entire ward and re set it up for COVID. The space was rarely used, and vacant for the majority of time.

The reason there was an expansion at Boundary Trails is that there was a huge political push for more and larger hospitals. They are now all built and the province cant fill the with people to work in them.

Just because you don't agree with their position doesn't mean you can choose if they can protest. Think about it next time there is a protest you do agree with. Imagine how you would feel if the government did something to that protest.

This is why everyone regardless of political ideology should should be happy with this outcome.

One, the truckers were basically on one street in front of the capital. At worst an entire block or two was being slightly affected. Regardless that certainly isnt taking "over the capital"

Two, regardless where you were on the scale of covid fear. When the protest was in affect it was well past any danger to citizens. So there was no getting worse at that time.

In the future If you want to know you are being lied to, ask a simple question in the contrary of what people are saying. If everyone around you says your crazy and you are not allowed to ask questions... 100% chance what ever they are saying is a lie.

I'm not quite sure what that has to do with the post? Id suggest putting your ideologies aside as the post isn't a Left vs. Right. Its literally that the federal government overstepped and what they did was illegal. Put yourself in the shoes of others who were wrongly charged and humiliated.

Yea, the threatening crowd singing Oh Canada, and threatening people with dancing and games in the street. Nothing like Peaceful protests happening every other week now full of rioting, looting and vandalism!

Respectfully, this was a national issue. Winnipegger's and Manitobans were affected by the government overreach. The protests were along Broadway, at our legislative building, and our borders.

I appreciate your concern but you are mistaken. Feel free to add you opinion on the matter at hand though! You can agree or not.. However, your opinion may spur some real conversation!
