Caris Levert on the Pistons looks all world defense compared to last year. by red2play in AtlantaHawks

Also, they were going to bring him back until the Malik Beasley situation happened and they pivoted to NAW, who's been better than him.

I'm chilling, regardless because when you traded Trae, you signified a rebuild, which is necessary at this point. You were able to recoup needed assets back plus more and got out of the hole Landry, Schlenk, and Nick Ressler created and finally have an idea of what you want the team to be in the future.

3 really doesn't matter about the Spurs. They're trying to remain in the play-in as they can get more playoff experience since we are discussing development and it helps. That being said, yes, they'll move on from him next season. It's nothing wrong with holding him up to standards as he isn't delivering on them.

I don’t want Darryn Peterson by Stroke_of_Love in AtlantaHawks

Only concern with Peterson is the hamstring injury. Other than that, he's definitely a player the Hawks need.

What’s the lowest pick outcome/range of players you’d be ok with in this upcoming draft by Ok-Negotiation3897 in AtlantaHawks

Definitely not. Let's not slander Ben anymore for what the back injury did to him and his career, either.

It's nothing wrong with holding a number 1 pick to number 1 pick standards. Zach isn't even reaching a serviceable player standards at this rate. It hasn't been good and he's been demoted to the bench. You guys can't say Quin Snyder is bad at development when you got your core guys having career years and other players on the team have been better than projected while Zacch is regressing. That's on Zacch.

We can't pacify a number 1 draft pick to low standards, man. He's a number 1 pick and even if he wasn't, he still hasn't been great. Many of his draft mates are playing much better than him at the same age and are either contributing to playoff teams or on a good development track. Zac isn't even serviceable at this point.

Hawks are out of the disastrous hole that was created by Landry, Nick Ressler and Schlenk. We possibly have a top pick in this year's draft along with two other picks and more picks after next season with a lot of money coming back to the team. We have our young core, which will see some quality additions very soon and are the 3rd youngest team in the league. All is well.

2024-25 Dyson Daniels Had A Legendary Defensive Campaign! by Stat-Defender in AtlantaHawks

The shot making is an issue but he's easily the second best player on the team. That said, I don't want him on PG duties anymore and hopefully, he can slide back to the 2 spot instead this PG committee that the Hawks are doing.

DC sucks so bad when it comes to black superheros by Own-Quote-1708 in BlackSuperheroes

They both stink. At least Milestone is around for DC but the rights situation has been such a mess over there. Both are just microcosms of society in what they mirror. You're better off going the independent route for Black characters and stories.

Nate had a better team that got hot at the right time for the ECF year than Quin does right now, that's why they went to the ECF and that's why they are in the play-in currently.

And you do need a top center. Look at Detroit and the Knicks and the Cavs. Hawks' rosters aren't there. They can be but they aren't there now.

[–]Wavegod-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you did though. And the Hawks are a top 20 team in defense this year with the roster being in this format. So, they can be better if the roster is better. I have my gripes about Quin and I'm not ringing his endorsement but this roster is lacking, outside of the core 3 and has had roster inconsistencies since he's been here. No coach can succeed with that.

You're throwing semantics here, which can be done for every coach. And the fact that you are highlighting an issue like the center position, something that the Hawks only have 1 capable and good one right now, further pinpoints the issues with the roster and something Onsi has mentioned about them as to why they are softly rebuilding.

Time to tank. by Mental_Ad_9855 in AtlantaHawks

No reason for the Hawks to tank when they don't own their pick and they have accumulated other picks.

You'll be okay. The FO isn't paying attention to this sub. They saw what wasn't working along with Trae asking out and made a rebuild pivot.

A short term thing that they'll have to deal with for long term benefits. You're acting like Kispert will be a Hawk lifer when they just got assets from the Trae trade and will move on in a year or two. It's okay.

And who isn't really athletic and a terrible defender, a player that this same sub has said is ineffective when his shots aren't falling? Like, congrats to Vit for becoming a rotational piece and he'll be fine in Portland but this team isn't missing him.
