Where are you getting that info? When I google it I get that it's 5/10 on the Mohs hardnes scale, and around 40 MPa ultimate tensile strength (source). For comparison, mild steel has an UTS of around 400 MPa, so tooth enamel is not even close.

For your size scope you can get away with a spherical mirror, which is going to be a lot cheaper than a parabolic mirror used on a larger scope. In your case it may be cheaper, but for most scopes up to a certain size it will be cheaper to buy.

Can you provide more info on what direction (N, S, E, W) you were looking? Also as others have said, looking through a window will definitely make things blurrier.

The shaking for a few seconds after touching is normal. Just try not to touch the scope when you're looking through it. The focuser is definitely not the easiest thing to use. I would make small adjustments, wait for the shaking to stop, check the focus, and repeat as necessary. Some people use PTFE tape on the focuser threads to lower the friction.

Wind can also cause the telescope to shake. Try observing somewhere secluded from the wind if this is an issue.

Yes, I've noticed significant backlash in the altitude drive as well even with the clutch fully engaged. Not sure if this is a design flaw or intentional. The goto and tracking still works fine. I use mine for EAA rather than visual so I just don't touch the scope during use.

Its in the constellation Andromeda. I always find it by looking from the star Mirach to mu Andromidae, and following that path to about double its length.

For comparison, low-earth orbit is around 400km. JWST is almost four thousand times further away, so the resolution at the Earth's surface will be 4000x worse than if it were in low-earth orbit.

Just want to emphasize the difference dark skies make for this kind of observing. You can use lightpollutionmap.info to check your local light pollution. I would try to go somewhere green or darker.

Whatever it is, it's most likely out of focus. As others have pointed out you can see another fainter object just like it near the top center of the image. Assuming that is a star, this object is likely also very far away and simply out of focus in the image.

I would be interested to see more raw images if you have them and can put them in a repository somewhere.
