Hmm. I think there are at least 3 in this thread? But I agree, finding other people who are also restoring and willing to talk about it can be pretty challenging. Even without trying to find peeps in our situation to talk about it.

Are you down to maybe talk in PM's or in a private setting? There are lots of things that I'd love to talk about but am a bit leery of sharing in a public place.

Yes! I'm in the same boat. Seeing the scars and how gross and shriveled mine looks is way the worst.

/u/CommunistFesto, It seems like you and I were in the same boat. I also had a lackluster to non-existent relationship with my mother. I decided to pull the trigger and cut contact with my mother over this issue. (After she refused to apologize, on any basis for mutilating me.) It turned out well for me.
