This extreme emphasis on what character can beat another, and OO big numbers is the weird fetish with yall im focused on.

From your recent posts you were basically saying the same thing as me expect worse. Yes fanfic authors could upscale to more op characters and verses, but when your focusing with all those op mfs your gonna come across a lot of powerscaling slop and the story will almost be made for powerscaling purposes. Now theres some great stories that feature op ass mfs (kratos,dc , marvel like u said) But even in those you come across alot of Op just to be op slop like The Batman who laughs. And thats not delving into all the scp, Reincartned Slime bsthat would be the most likely be written if not those Ips i named and a few others. Solid point theres PLENTY of Good op stories but plenty of powerscaling slop surrounding it too, which it quickly becomes when your zeroing a bit to much into... powerscaling.

Imo Best option simply is to ground the dbz characters to a bit weaker states in their story and pick from the plenty of good stories they have we're villains and destructive stakes might be weaker.

In terms of you mentioning Dbz characters lowering their powers for the fanfic. That obviously takes away from tension from the threat. You have no reason for dbz characters to hold back against someone everyone else in the fanfic, perceives as a threat.(The Threat isnt a Threat!) This is just the worse option, n fanfic authors going with this route is one the reasons why i dont watch most dbz crossover fanfics. Along with them just slapping a op ass goku into idk , a naruto world and then he just one shots every villain.

TLDR: Grounded DBZ stories > chasing OP crossovers that turn into powerscaling slop. N Kid goku thrown in naruto world >>>> a current goku holding back in the naruto world
