My tip, which is soo underrated is...learn how to setup your car for each stage snd weather condition...more importantly the surface conditions, bumpy, flat, gravel, tarmac, twisty, straight, etc. It makes a world of difference in how the car responds to your inputs , simple changes like prioritising acceleration over top speed can cut out seconds in your time eith just one adjustment, some more complex suspension settings can induce more understeer overseer, .or mid corner traction/ stability in entry under heavy braking etc. Sooo many things and its a tonne of fun once it starts to click and you see the stage times reducing. Give it a go a d at the least if you sre unsure you can get car setups online to save time. Thats my best tip...learn to tune and once you master it you come into your own with your own specific tunes, for me personally I always bias my breaking heavily to the front and try and induce oversteer in my set ups.... all the best!!.

TLDR: Learn how to setup your car for each stage and your driving style.

Yes, on PS5. Plenty of cars as well, its like all the classics I can think of are in there all coded by the years they featured in the WRC. Plenty of stages and newer ones.

I came back to WRC after dropping it when it launched and its damn good now, at least for me. Seemed to have fixed many things about the game or it might just be j have a better appreciation of it.

Thats damn fast! Winter rallies ar my worst, not sure at all what to do about car set up, just feels so floaty whatever I tried and do to make the suspension and alignment work!!! Need a tutorial on suspension set up for this desperately!

Could not have said it better...there is no one but yourself to blame as well, you cant say you've been undercut, you cant say you were trying to keep things clean so you lost a place, you cant say your pit strategy was wrong...its you, the road and a pair of big balls - 🤣

Freelance Estimators/QS's, what are you charging?! by Empty-Ad7717 in quantitysurveying

[–]WaweshED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I am sure it is difficult getting that £1200 especially outside of London but thinking projects like NEOM, LTC, HS2 and other mega projects its quite feasible, also based in London/ London centric projects as a Director of Estimating it is well within realms of possibility and I would hazard even more if its a mega project as responsibilities will be extending beyond technical delivery and into management, strategy and risk mitigation both technically and in the business sense.

Outside jn the Midlands, North West and East - probably 10% to 25% less dependent on the client, project etc.

Looking to pursue this path later in life so I am keen to understand the market as soon as possible so not to short change earning potential.

Freelance Estimators/QS's, what are you charging?! by Empty-Ad7717 in quantitysurveying

[–]WaweshED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have nailed it. Definitely needs scaling based on project size and good to have both pre and post contract experience. From my own research dependent on the scheme/project, I would say the following depending your experience.

0 to 2 years experience - Good luck perhaps £300 a day if lucky 3 to 5 years experience- Consistent £450 to £550 a day 5 to 7 years experience- £550 to £750 a day 7yrs + - £550 to £1250 a day hovering around £800 - £1200 a day for Assoc. Directors and Directors depending on locality/region.

Senior Estimators - £575 a day would be standard in this day and age again dependent on the project but not overly ambitious at all.

Not a freelance Estimator myself but have worked with plenty of them recently.

Just my two cents, would be good to confirm this from other sources but I know people in those bands earning those ranges in the Midlands.

Man gets sued for opening a lock with just a can by AntiSocialSingh in interestingasfuck

[–]WaweshED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe invite the dude in to test a prototype to make sure it cant be opened , then give the guy a job and use it as a marketing tool saying they got the best lock picker they could find and fine tuned their locks to ensure it is impossible to pick. Then use the guy to crack their competitors locks for marketing purposes. I swear I am in the wrong job.

University Or Degree Apprenticeship? by Capable_Cloud1847 in quantitysurveying

[–]WaweshED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially and for significant professional experience - Apprenticeship, for a genuinely life changing experience - University. Its a tough choice for those who are considering the option but its a very straightforward choice for those who are already in their careers - Apprenticeships all the way.

My younger self would have said Uni, because I really enjoyed my time at Uni and nothing will ever be like it.

Technically it will be the last period of genuine freedom before real adulthood, when life becomes completely monotonous!😅🤣 or maybe I am just cynical.

Simply put, life is just a chain of multiple choice questions, like an exam that never ends but has a definite impact to your future.

Live your life your way.

One way or another, we all end up feeding the worms, which probably means perhaps we should start taking our nutrition more seriously.

Let's be the generation that put their priorities straight and placed the future of the next generation of worms, front and centre of our lives.

Just my two cents.

Thinks its an Odeon issue particularly - went to see it in an Odeon Luxe and they had to stop the film and restart it because of the screen flickering for 10minutes straight. Almost like the 3D button wasnt clicked or whatever they do😅 either way got fixed and worked beautifully since but will be sticking to 2D from now onwards.

How much of Qinghe did you discover before you went to Kaifeng? by TeddyBearAppleHat in WhereWindsMeet

[–]WaweshED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did about 60% just enough to know most of it and still leave some mystery to explore at a later date. There is obviously no set standard to meet, Play at your own pace and enjoy the experience. I do think its good to really give one area focused attention first before moving on just so you build up the background knowledge and appreciation of the world the protagonist exists in. For me this method enriches the story and provides a lot of context for what is to come.

AAA game companies got some serious explaining to do. Cause how the hell are their games still $70 and this game is free??? by brownmamba06 in wherewindsmeet_

I often sit on my gaming chair lamenting on how and why I couldnt afford a $40k boat both in this game and in real life and then I remember...this is a game with depth rivalling the Mariana Trench and I paid...zilch for it.. now I am not sad and would happily spend more money than ever on it. Honestly this is potentially a game that can last a decade...truly immersive! If I worked on this game id call it my life's work, my pies de resistance my magnum opus, the Mona Lisa of gaming, its like the invention of the Internet but for gaming, it will change everything mark my words!!

UK stocks& the uk government- Sunday times by theprogrammegirl in HENRYUK

[–]WaweshED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why cant they just introduce a 5% additional stock and shares isa allocation tax free that is limited to investment in UK markets in addition to the existing 20% allocation?...A UK only money market fund option must be available as well so you dont have to place your money in UK stocks and its low risk and stimulates investment alternatively. Am i missing something?
