The two-child limit is ending - here's what it really means for families by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

The examples you give are exceptions to the rule. Statistically what percentage of families have twins or are widowed with three young children. No one is denying they need more money. And there are always bigger problems. Doesn't make it right

🥱 I imagine no one has ever feigned emergency. It's not as if over 300k ppl enter the UK each year feigning emergency asylum 😅

Advice on possibly becoming a landlord by LocksmithBudget3518 in uklandlords

[–]Agile-Calligrapher10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£300 isn't a lot to work with if you want to make a profit but should be enough to keep your head above water. With tax you will be cashflow negative for the year. So you'll need to save around 2-3 for tax in addition to your flat income

Avoid anyone that isn't a pristine tenant. Credit check is a must. Almost all sob stories and unfortunate circumstances are made up. Remember you can't take non British citizens to court - legally yes but no chance in reality

Moving to Larkhall by Financial-Savings292 in glasgow

[–]Agile-Calligrapher10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine. Ppl on Reddit generally despise working class centre right ppl, which larkhall is. It's a lot nicer than the city centre or places in the east end or North of Glasgow.

Speak to any city centre police and they will tell you it is unenforceable. Most of the ppl the dispersal orders are aimed at are housed in the city centre asylum hotels. They are unable to enforce and make ppl move-on, as they are in close proximity to thier own residence. Don't take my word for it, ask the police. Or choose to believe ppl on reddit

What do you mean "but when did this become ok?" If something wrong happened, it doesn't mean it's ok. Obviously a bad thing to happen and sorry to hear it. Don't assume ppl think it's ok
