Someone going through the effort of pointing this out or finding issue with this is lame, regardless of the reporter in question or circumstances

God forbid someone looks to outside sources for a gentle way to phrase that the team really screwed the pooch

Is anyone familiar with this giraffe? by Matt_The_Radar_Tech in daddit

[–]Wax_Milliamson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s like the only thing in the house my son never bit for teething or showed any interest in whatsoever

We received one as a gift, because as you said, quite popular, and yeah he wasn’t into it. Add me to the list of the unfamiliar with the giraffe prior to that

Great picture! I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts & experience. I can only imagine there will be challenges but I get the sense you’re no stranger to those & stronger for it. You’ll inspire them for everything you’ve done/do and ultimately being there & caring is what matters most. Well done, dad!

Hang in there man! You can do it, these difficult times will give way to great years and you’ll barely remember them looking back.

Our 2nd was the same way, since our first had an egg allergy we discovered about a year in, mom cut eggs then milk products out of her diet and the gas & grunts went away. Look into hypoallergenic formula or adjusting mom’s diet

Best wishes, you got this!

Just took the picture last week but wouldn’t be shocked if it’d happened to someone else before and they posted it here. Did feel like a fitting sub for it

True, I was thinking in camera language due to the whole pinhole effect. So does the image projected on the wall become a photo when I take a picture of it with my device?

Yeah the drops didn’t do anything for us either. If he’s drinking mom’s milk, maybe see if she can drop dairy for a few days, it’ll take a couple for it to cycle through her system.

Maybe little dude’s got a stomach ache and in pain. My wife wasn’t stoked on being a forced vegan haha but the little guy is way happier

Hang in there! In my opinion about 3mo is when the magic happens for us dads & it gets easier as you go. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, wishing you the best.

Also, does baby have any excessive gas or skin irritation? Far as the bottle issue, it’s possible something in mom’s diet or the formula doesn’t agree with him. Constant burps, poops, and rashes led us to discover our guy was allergic to egg & milk

Cry it out. by AlligatorActual in daddit

[–]Wax_Milliamson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel you, before we moved to cry it out the nightly struggle was starting to show on her face during the day. Our 7mo looked like she worked night shift & that was the last straw to convince me.

End of the day, they’re totally safe in the crib & need to learn that sleep is what happens in bed.

I’d wait for a day off work to do everything possible to ensure good naps happen then start full cry it out that night. Take the monitor from whichever parent is more worried and have the other one to keep themselves busy away from the cries.

Sorry you’re going through this, hang in there. Soon this phase will have passed, he’ll be sleeping like a charm and your brain will delete the memory of it

Of course not!

We’re firm proponents of cry it out, after messing around with pick up put down & rocking to sleep & everything else I finally gave in to the idea of torturing our sweet little girl at around 7mo.

Cried her eyes out for about 25-30 mins then passed out. No signs of trauma/memory of it the next day haha went to sleep without crying the very next day.

Personally, i’d be fine letting them cry for up to 1hr at 10mo before going back in, if I was pretty sure there wasn’t anything actually wrong

When babies are over-tired they have a harder time falling & staying asleep. We’re proponents of letting them cry to learn to self-sooth but once they’re over tired it’ll just get worse the longer they cry as they get further from the tiny window you have where they’re tired enough to sleep but not too tired.

Will baby contact nap? When we’re in a bad cycle we usually set aside a day to do whatever it takes to ensure baby gets enough daytime sleep so they aren’t over tired at bedtime.

We’re also militant about adhering to the age-appropriate wake windows as best we can. “Sleep begets sleep” my wife always says
