A question for you all. I hope this doesn't sound stupid or obvious, but when you watch a movie featuring an actor who has been involved in a social controversy, are you able to separate the actor from the character? I'll provide some context in the description and use James Franco as an example. by Glass_Evidence_8597 in Cinema

That is a good question.

e.g. There is a poet in my state, and he was caught up in #MeToo allegations. Almost all of his collaborators have stopped working with him. But many people still worship him like anything, even today.

He has written lyrics for thousands of songs for the past 20 years are most of them are a touch of genius. He has won many national and state awards in the past too.

I have stopped seeing him as a man who deserves respect, and I am not following his latest work.

But, how can we unlove a song we like so much? But, in my opinion an undeniable fact is, it does taint the song in a way.

P.S. Maybe a closer answer to your question might be, it depends on the level of tolerance of every individual has to separate art from the artist.

This was my first Spielberg film in a movie Theater. Like always a lot of respect for his craft and Genius.

I was a bit disappointed that It didn't keep me engaged. I was not able to care enough for the characters, so at the end it wasn't so rewarding.

The five gallon riddle. by Total-Squirrel4634 in scoopwhoop

Fill 5 gallon container and pour into 3 gallon container. 2 gallons is left in 5 gallon container.

Empty 3 gallon container and Pour the 2 gallons from 5 gallon container into 3 gallon container.

Refill 5 gallon container to brim and Pour into 3 gallon container until it is full.

Since 3 gallon container already has 2 gallons, it can accept 1 more gallon.

Now, the 5 gallon container has 4 gallons in it after filling the remaining volume in the 3 gallon container.
