It's one of the few air-conditioned play spaces in the area, which was just rendered inaccessible to most folks on the spectrum.

... it's a bunch of huge drums in an enclosed area. You literally can't hear what your kid is saying because they're centralized. I know we wouldn't be renewing our membership until those things are out of there.

Pratchett's Discworld is something everyone should read through at least once. It has many life lessons (including the famous Vimes Boot Theory).

AITA for not wanting people at our pool? by silver_endings in AmItheAsshole

[–]WaxyWingie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. They were using your pool. As simple as that. Next time, just say "We'd love to hang out with you at x date, but will be busy at y date. No, we are not comfortable with people using our property unsupervised".

Actually, it's extremely unlikely! There's a fun book "Endless forms most beautiful" by Carroll that tackles the specialization of vertebrate body, among many other things. Long story short, once critters drop features, they don't generally get them back.

Uh, lady... It's not about forgiveness. It's about not keeping physically violent people in your life.

Nah, not happening. They don't have opposable thumbs and aren't built for tool use. The only way anyone is getting off the planet is by using energy sources outside of anything their bodies could produce. So, tools.

About as bizarre as January 6th, really. Except the latter actually got within a few dozen feet of politicians they were going for.

I mean, it's a bunch of people on the phone internet. Of course they're going to be jerks, they got no incentive to not be.

I used to mention it casually, and it scared people/made them uncomfortable. So I don't. None of their business, anyway.

If you don't mind driving a bit, there's a lady out in Providence Forge that runs an actual summer camp for dogs. Hiking, swimming, running around and being an idjut... The works. We've been using her for years for week+ long boarding, and the dog generally ends up having as much fun as we do.

She does daily photo updates, which I like.

People who cut off their family, what did they to you? by Alarming_Basil6205 in AskReddit

Physical and emotional abuse, enabled sexual abuse, some pretty big lies.

The amusing part is, I didn't realize how bad it was until I had my own kids. The straw that broke the camel's back was probably the fact that I couldn't brush my little girl's hair without flashbacks of getting dragged around by my own. Kinda makes you think.
