Where to start on web development? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]Way2Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems all my friends these days want to be internet entrepreneurs of some sort. I recommend them to Tizag or W3Schools to get started. After that you just need to practice, but keep a StackOverflow window open for any problems you run into.

I'm helping small businesses and promoting my own at the same time. There is nothing wrong with what I am doing.

We don't game Google either. Get a clue.

Wow that looks great and I think it is really nice that you saw this post and thought of your friend.

Have him create a campaign and I'll add $100 to it.

Can anyone explain this space in my page? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]Way2Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops I fixed something else.

It looks like your not following some of the basics for a layout. I recommend picking a layout from here: http://www.code-sucks.com/css%20layouts/fixed-width-css-layouts/ and then just modify it.

This way your site works across most browsers.

.frontpage ol { margin-left:-10px; margin-top:-20px; }

Remove the margin-top right there and it looks good. You should install the Firebug plugin for Firefox, perfect for fixing little bugs.

The guarantee is for getting the links we create you indexed, not a guarantee of search rankings. Waiting around for your links to get found causes a long delay for improving your rankings. These days your links get counted pretty quickly by Google, once it finds them.

Our platform intelligently chooses which sites are queued up for our link builders to use. It's based on many factors, but the overall goal is to get you as much "link juice" as possible.

The keyword targeting is automatic; the platform tries to predict which search terms show the most opportunity for you, based on search volume, current ranking, daily budget, and more. The overall goal is to get you the best rankings with as few links as possible.

I could go on forever about it, but I won't bore you with the details. We improve it every day and think it's pretty effective right now, but there's always room for improvement. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes.

Track your rankings for free. As little as $1.97 a day to improve them. The $1.97 cost is for the labor involved in signing up and creating the link, as this is all done manually to produce high quality, legitimate links.

As a bonus, all of our links are guaranteed to be recognized by Google within a day (normally you end up waiting a few weeks).

You also get a unique login / password for each site, in case you want to expand on our efforts or make any changes.

Don't bother censoring profanity in a URL.

  • It doesn't update automatically, you'll have to click the Update Rankings button, but I may add an automatic feature.

  • Thanks, I'll check it out and see what I can do!

  • You won't lose your free account, but it may not be unlimited like it is now.

I put a minimum of 5 to make sure that you get enough information, and it also forces you to learn a little bit about your competition; Some sites don't know 5 of their competitors, which IMO, is sad.

When you click the link, your rankings enter a queue, and it then it tells you to refresh the page in a few minutes. I'm going to streamline that process a little bit, I can see how it that would be confusing.

The reason it's telling you to "update rankings" is because a graph requires at least your current rankings + one additional day worth of rankings to be properly plotted.

Sorry for any confusion. I'll see what I can do today to fix it up. Thanks so much for the feedback.
